Anything wrong with my launch?
My Evo 9 Mods:
K&N Typhoon Intake (http://www.stikiller.com/product.php?productid=16237)
Greddy Profec B Spec II (Running stock settings) (http://www.modyourcar.com.au/product...oducts_id=2390)
Tried alot of ways of launching my car and found this the best way but not sure the safest.
Clutch all the way in, in first gear, gas to the floor at the 5k limiter and then let out the clutch not fast but not slow so that your car barely moves.
Also one thing i am concerned about is that when I am in first gear clutch in and gas down hitting the rev limiter I am getting only 5-6lbs of boost.

well the good thing is your not dumping the clutch but you kinda want to let up the clutch closer towards the point of activation rather than all the way to the floor...it just seems your taking too long off the line!!!

How to 2step (my tech):

Get rid of that intake, it is the worst for our car. Search and you will be answered.
And this should be done at the track. 2stepping on the street should not be done, and then you get number (talking 60's here) so you can see what you are doing...and improving.

We can't answer your question without a timeslip - your explanation of your launch method is a little too vague, and the only way you know if it works is when you see your 60' on the timeslip. Also, traction is much different on the street than at the track, so I'd suggest going to the track and finding out if your method works. There's nothing wrong with building 5-6psi on the stock 5k launch limiter - what did you expect to see?
You really haven't figured out where to start with mods after reading a lot of posts? It's pretty much a consensus that you start with the same basic mods on any Evo. Check the link in my sig for details - those are the best combinations of mods for VIIIs and IXs to start with, imo.

He didn't asked how it sounds - you don't buy an intake for sound, you buy it for power gains. It may sound sick, but it's also making your car sick...as in unhealthy. It is the absolute WORST intake you can put on the Evo, and NO intake should be installed without a tune. You have about $600 worth of mods only to make less power than stock while harming your Evo.

Well a MBC would have been a lot cheaper for the same boost control.
You must be new to turbos, CAI are really a NA mod. Did you notice the snorkel that was stock on your car? What do you think that did?
2 paths correction paths here: go back the the stock intake and stock intake box+snorkel + K/N filter OR go back the the stock intake and get a simple MAF cone adapter and cone filter + tune.

Why in the world did you get aftermarket mods at the dealership? I didn't even know that was possible, but they really screwed you over. That's your fault, though, not theirs. They are just making money off a sucker, but you didn't do any research first or ask Evo owners/vendors what's best.
No, you don't waste more money by getting yet another intake. YOu put your stock intake back on, then you go get an exhaust and a tune (flash) while learning how to use your EBC. There's no reason to have that $400 EBC if you're not going to use it. You said you're at stock boost, but you can't run stock boost on an EBC. It has to be setup and configured to run a specific amount of boost, and your peak boost may be 20.3psi like stock, but it does not have the same boost profile through the powerband.
