You're right - it is very odd. Not sure if the dealer did something to it, but that is very strange. Al should be able to take care of it.

It is becoming standard practice for dealerships to flash cars as they come in for warranty work. Whether this is simply to irratate the owner, make sure the car isnt gonna blow up, or give it the "latest PO300" updates I dont know. I do have this info firsthand from a NW Mitsu Tech. If you took it in for warranty work and it was fine beforehand there is a very good chance that they reflashed it for you. Especially considering the circumstances concerning the 2 step. That stuff doesnt just go away. I have had the battery out of my car for a week, reinstalled it, and it started right up and hadnt "reset".

Like Warr said that doesnt just happen, I would be quite positive you just recieved a "dealer tune".
