Just curious what people are using for tires at the strip. I'm not interested in hearing about all seasons or regular tires, but from guys that make enough power to have made the decision to go to a drag radial or slick. What wheel and tire do you go with? Is there something that will fit an OEM wheel besides the BFG 225?
I'm wanting to keep my stock brakes and suspension, so what are my options? I see BFG has a 225 17 and a 275 17 DR. It seems like all of the companies that offer a 17 inch drag radial only make them in a 275...and they are 26 inches tall. I know about the quicktime pros and ET streets but I don't have enough power to go through all that trouble. I am leaving the hole on a pretty big shot of nitrous and that is now causing me some problems in 1st gear.
So if you have gone to a drag oriented tire, maybe posting some of your info would help me.

Sounds like you need some aired down (20psi) RA1's in a flavor that suits you. 255's have netted 1.6's for my friends and I am spinning 275's at 20 psi (air pressure in tire) currently and still getting 1.6's. Besides the fact that they arent really a drag tire, they did propel Shep to 9's for quite along time back in the day when he was that slow.

I am more interested in guys running drag radials. I am cutting 1.64 - 1.68 60s on 235 Hankook Icebears @ 40psi. I put my shaved Advans back on and am blowing them off pretty hard, but I'm also spraying a larger shot. I'm looking for under 1.6s.
Should I just get the 275s and a wider rim? I like keeping my car looking stock so I was trying to avoid that.

40 psi? If you can cut 1.64 with 40 psi you should be down lower with 20 psi. There are no real choices in a drag radial for a stock rim other than the 225.

you could go with nitto 555r in 245/45/17...it will be off slightly but still better than 275/40's....

i run BFG DR 225/35?17 tire psi at 22hot 18-19 cold.
note on a stock 05 rim.
at those time i had around 365hp - 375hp and 415tq
i get 1.5-1.6 every time with out trying.
this year i think i will try and go with a sticker tire.
also note with a really wide tire as in 275 in the upper speed it will slow you down. this is why you want a thin tire but sticky so you can go faster duhh lest friction pad on road.
note on a stock 05 rim.
