Will removing sway bars on a drag car affect it down the strip?

Question Will removing sway bars on a drag car affect it down the strip?

Hey guys just getting some input on removing the sway bars. seeing what your thoughts are. Ive been cutting sheet metal out and all my window motors are gone so looking for more ways to cut weight!

i don't think its would be wise, but it really is up to you its your car after all
unless you already have remove your rear seats and A/C or gut the interior

If this is your full time drag race car only i'd say go for it! I'm sure you car sees little no none street driving correct? BTW, have you weighed your car?

I plan on trapping over 160 mph and worried about how much sway the car will have with slicks

Yes the car is drag only im shooting for 2600lbs with me in it

if you up your spring rates you will be fine. lots of guys run small or no sways with high spring rates. with that said too stiff will probably screw your launch cause it wont hunch down as much.

I pulled my rear bar as well as bumper support's to lighten it up. It obvioulsy pushes more in the corners (understeers) but that is irrelavant to you. I felt as if the car squated more when I did it but ****ty tire's are keeping me from netting a better 60'.

Awesome guys thxs for the info. We took out the rear sway bar and most likely take the front out to. Driving around didn't notice much difference

Hey take the rear sway bar out but take it to alignment before race the car again in my street car Evo 9 i did 1.68 with the sway on then i take it out and did 1.56 with the same tires On a 150+ car it would be kinda of loose on top but you can handle it take care hope to meet you at the shoot out
