Like some other guys on the board, I was just going to be a spectator and decided to join the bracket class. I was so scared I was gonna look like an idiot out there because I've never taken my car to a track and had no idea how the lights on that tree were gonna go down. I pulled off respectable times considering my Power, the Weather, and never drag racing. I only ran my 3 practice runs because I was worried about my stock clutch. Time slips are as follows. Comments are welcome, I thought my consistant Traps, 60ft's were great.

Thanks a lot. I saw your sig with your AWHP and your best E.T. And I felt like I must suck or something. I was hoping to run a 12.6 today. Think I could pull that off with better weather?
Your 60' were pretty good considering that you are saying that this your first time doing drag racing on the car. Comparing your numbers against mine (I have almost the same exact mods, my drop in panel is HKS and I still have the stock FMIC), you can either improve your shifting, and your 60' time to achieve a better 1/4 mile. Or maybe the weather, like you were saying played a factor and the power level was affected. For reference my best run is a 12.42@110 with 1.72 60', from what I have seen that is a standard number 12.3-12.4 range with our mods. So take it to the track again when the weather improves and with a bit more confidence while launching and shifting through the gears and you will be all set!!!

Hell with the temps today my car ran horribly. That run was earlier this year when I could breathe outside, lol. Nice lauches BTW cause I was bogging with my 2 step on building 5-8psi at the line, couldn't do better than 1.9s. Bad day for me...oh well. Got a nice AMS hat though!
Thanks for the posts guys. A friend of mine taped the races and he was saying the same thing, that my 60ft's were some of the best. It's a shame I didn't compete after my 3 runs. It was definately the 2-step launch that helped my out. I practiced it twice the night before after my friend showed me how to use it. I'm hooked now so it's off to the races after I get a better clutch and some cooler weather.

Haha, I bought one too. They're really nice hats. Goes nice with my AMS Intercooler

PROPs for just getting out there and doing it.
Looking at your mods and Sean tuned your car. As you get some more track time you will find your car is even faster then you think.
Thanks Kc2Buk, I know it'll run faster and I'm hooked now. I can't wait to get back to the track. Getting out there for the first time is the worst but now I know what to expect. I'm trying to convert my DVD files as I'm typing this to link some video of my runs. My friend didn't catch my 12.9 pass but got my 12.8 passes.
not bad for a newbie at the track i seen worse!....with your mods i could have seen better but like you said it was your first time and that isnt bad at all for that kind of weather. BTW great 60ft times!
Thanks. I'm still trying to convert this damn video so I can show my runs.
Think it was the weather because my 60ft's were some of the best and my shifting was pretty decent. By the way I'll be updating the thread in a couple of minutes. I think I figured out how to convert my video and host it. The link should be up in a minute.
Same difference. The power you make is the power you make. On the dyno, weather affects you the same as at the track.
Your 60's weren't really some of the best - that was just selective memory by your friend. Yours were ok, but anything over 1.7 is not good. Anyway, your 60's and shifting weren't a problem, and I didn't say they were. You just weren't making more than 270-ish whp.
