Just another IX with bolt ons at the track
catless TBE, MBC, drop in filter, and just a flash from KevinD. And 109 oct.
1st pass EVER in the evo for me. 1.6 60ft, 12.5 at 107
2nd pass 1.6 60ft 12.4 at 108
That 1st pass the top of 3rd and 4th felt like a freakin DOG, and boost was falling pretty good. so I turned the MBC down one full turn for the second pass. worked out much better. I went into 5th at the end of the second pass, just to experiment. in 4th I pass at 7400-7500. so I'll just leave it in 4th.
I dunno if I need a stiffer wastegate for the boost levels with race gas, or I need a fuel pump to keep up. I'll be getting a fuel pump before the next time I run race gas anyway.
I was running the same/better than my buddy with a 8 that has: TBE, EBC, UICP, LICP, IC, wastegate, intake, fuel pump, 280s, meth, port matched manifold/hotside/02 housing, tune and an ACT clutch. His best pass with race has was a 12.3, last night on pump and meth hes best was a 12.5 at 111
my 1st race a race another friend with an 8. he has a 35R, 109 oct, and meth. 1st pass I smoked him, but he missed a gear, haha. he ran a 13.5 and 122. He ended up splitting an IC coupler in 1/2 later that night.
Oh yeah, I don't know how much this matters, if at all, but the alt. here is right at 3,000, and the density altitude was at 4100. That's good, normally its 5,000 or more here.
So do I need a fuel pump or is it time for a forge wasgate with race gas??

I was just hoping to hit a 12 last night. When I got my first time slip in my hands, and saw 1.6 60', then looked alittle further down and saw 12.5. I started laughing, I was so excited. My stock clutch was grabbing GREAT.
I got on it a little on my way home from work today, and boost is falling BBAADD.I think it's falling lower than it does on pump at 22 lbs. I dunno, I thought the IX wastegate was stiffer than the VIII. Is this correct?
I'm going to order a fuel pump probably this week, then I'll try it again sometime.

i didn't miss a gear biotch.... i just had a really crappy launch, i bogged real bad and by the time the turbo spooled it was too late you were already gone
