good eye, I missed the 8300rpm reference. what do you considered safe for extended use? I twist mine daily to 8k and have been for about 14k miles and countless drag/tuning runs and autox events. Seems like I'd start seeing bearing material by now if it were a major issue.

I haven't had the need to go higher than 8K with my weaknut trap speeds on pump gas but I might be tempted to when I put in the jesus juice (c16) or meth and finally let the 20g do it's thang

Build the bottom end and some better tires

I really dont take it that high very often. I do no racing on the street and have only had it to the track twice with the 35R. I only took it to 8300 once or twice cause I was tired of bouncing off the rev-limiter, but I still hit it I turned it back to 8k after that.

60' 1.65
1/4 10.80
mph 129.28

Video http://videos.streetfire.net/video/b...b9002f45f2.htm

Second run a roasted the tires and ran a 11.22@130mph with a 1.89 60'. Finally the third run I knew it felt good out of the hole and even after raising the rev-limiter to 8300 (I know, thats pushing it on the stock internals) I hit the limiter about 50ft from the end of the track. AF/R's were 11.7-11.1 and peak timing at 18*. Here's the breakdown:

60' 1.62
1/4 10.61
mph 131.59

Video http://videos.streetfire.net/video/b...b9003c0627.htm

I was running a 50/50 mix of pump and 110 and the meth injection. Running 29lbs boost and seeing zero knock across the board. Traction is really an issue now though. I was either hooking good or just roasting them, its a very fine line. Pulled several 1.9 60's as well.

Is this the fastest ET and mph on a stock block so far? Big props to Buschur either was for making some amazing products at unbeatable prices

Video's will be up in the next couple day's.
Tick tock tick tock.... I know some internals that are going to go through a block. Very impressive time but I think your really living on borrowed time and pushing it on stock internals and that much boost. Very quick though and nice 60' times when you hook.

I think some of you guys are UNDERestimating these motors. Few people have gone a bit faster (MPH = 138), ran much more boost (38psi) and even revved higher (8,700rpm) on stock 1G DSM 6-bolts. I expect EVOs to be a step ahead with a 15yr technology advantage.

Great times man! Good luck in '08.

congrats and nice times!

I think alot of people are forgetting the main thing. The BR35r kit might be helping, but you also must be one hell of a tuner!

I think you are too hard on him. The 4G63 REALLy can take a lot more power then you think. The issue is knock, any significant knock and yeah it is toast at that boost pressure. A Mr. Sean Ivey has been pushing nearly 600WHP on his STock bottom end 2003 Evo for a couple of years now. It is fine, really. The RPM's may be an issue but then again, Ivey has got it to 8700, these motors are VERY VERY good and if tuned properly will last a VERY long time.
