how to launch with gt35r?

well, tonight was a bad night for me.first, i forgot the keyspan USB adapter and wasnt able to play with my 2step that was set at 5500rpm.so car bogs at that rpm ,i try to launch manually with out 2 step, slipping the clutch very, very hard ,had no idea how to launch with out 2step, so i burn my Quarter Master twin disc clutch! and made a 7.6 -100mph pass in the 1/8 mile. i have run 7.70 with stock evo8 turbo now the car have 553hp with water/meth ,no race gas, and is pretty hard to drive,to much rpm excesive wheel spin,to slow and bogs.after i change the clutch going to try again but need to know what rpm are you guys launching with the 2 step?this is my setup

AMS gt35r

shep front helical posi
quarter master clutch,"i already remove a exedy twin disc"poping issues.

Depends whether the 2 step is using fuel cut or ignition cut, on fuel cut you will probably need to go up to about 6400 rpm or so. On ignition cut 5500 should get you close, just be careful using 2 step with meth injection because while you are loading up if it turns on things can get violent and change the result drastically. Good Luck

will try to put some photos and the dyno sheet. however,5500 is to low for my car, will try something around 6200-7000,and im cutting only ignition.my meth kit is open smoothly from 10psi to 30psi so there is no violent backfires,

You might have pulled a 7.7 with the stock 8 turbo but trapping 100mph in the 8th it did not. Thats a really good 8th mile trap speed. I trapped 95 in the 8th and trapped 125 in the quarter, gear limited in my evo 9. Your quarter trap speeds gotta be over 130mph thats very good. It also means you have a 10sec car once you get the launch down. Great Job.

When I was running my 35, I had it set to 64 and let off the line with 9-10psi. I ran 6.79 with a ****ty 60ft. You must have been rippin on that clutch cuz it shouldnt have been toast just from that one launch. Make sure you get the right tire pressure and **** for it too. Every little thing helps. And the most important thing you need to do is WATCH THE RPM'S. Or else you'll be living off the rev limiter. Good luck man and let us know how it goes!

dude im having the SAME problems... never can get a clean run...

first time at the track it was damp... i pulled a 2.5 60 foot spinning like a ***** and ran a 12.23 at 126

next time better track couldnt get any better than 2.0 60 but trapped like 102 or something in the 8th but didnt wanna go into 3rd... so now i gotta get a shep trans....

i dropped the 2 step to 5400 cause of wheel spin but it should be higher with a btter track.
