Thanks man!

Very detailed answers!

I like nitrous but for the time being i am a few steps behind you... I want to get into the 11s boost only and then i will consider more power updates...

Congrats again...

Offened at what?

I assumed that the nitrous being injected after the turbo was commn knowlege.

I think I am pretty careful. I only run C16 and I am pulling timing. Judging by your time I am assuming you may not have been pulling any timing. What was your a/f ratio? Do you know exactly why your motor blew up? Detonation? I have been working my way up with the nitrous. Started with a 50shot and ran 11.5@118, then the 75 went 11.3@120 and now I am up to 100. This is over the course of about 8months. I also dont use the nitrous often, I have gone through about 5bottles.

I know the stock shortblock is very capable of withstanding 500+whp although the sudden hit with nitrous may be more harsh than that power level with a laggy big turbo setup. Alot of people are afraid of nitrous because the reputation it has. I presonnally know of more people who have run motors lean or low on oil and blown them up than I know of motors blowing on nitrous.

Actually I only know of one instance where nitrous was the demise of a motor. It was installed on a single cam civic. The nitrous was incorrectly installed and was not adding any fuel, the first time it was used the driver watched the a/f go lean and stayed in it. So the actual cause of the motor blowing was the kit being incorrectly installed and the driver not knowing that when the gauge goes lean something is wrong.

Congrats in the passes!!!

Are you willing to share some more technical stuff on the nitrous?

What kind of trigger do you use to spray? What about timing? Usually on C16 i know the timing can go even more than 20 on the upper rpm but with nitrous you are suppose to pull timing, not add...

I am curious on the method you use to spray... I would assume that you activate the nitrous after you launch since 2-step and active spray is a no no or that you have a push button on the steering wheel to control the spray...

Congrats again!
Missed that part.My bad

You could always pull the oil pan and install some ARP rod bolts for some added strength down below. We have a few local guys around here that have had great success doing this. One ran 11.2@121 and made 431awhp with his 2004 SSL on a stock turbo w/ 10.5 hotside and no nitrous.

Click on the English Racing link in my sig to read more about it. Read the July 27, 2007 news clip.

A few questions.....

I assume you shifted into 5th. At what RPM did you leave 4th? An EVO8 4th gear would put you deep into the 10s.

What fuel jet did you use for the this? I was running a 46/26 on my DSM.

Are you still running stock plugs?

How did the no lift shift with the nitrous on feel/sound especially going into 5th?

I did not shift 5th, I bumped the limiter to 8500 and rode out 4th. My tire size is 245/40. I have the .026 jet but couldnt find it for the rushed trip to the track. So I used the same .022jet I was using with the 75shot. I have one heat range colder iridiums, dont remember the part number but it is my post in the nitrous forum. If anyone is aware of a copper plug for the ix let me know. The nlts on spray was causing knock(knocklite mod on dash), dont know how many counts as the laptop wouldnt log. That is the one and only time I will leave my right foot planted on spray.

Thanks for the reply...... You definitely have a set..... running fourth to 8500 on spray is nuts! I still think the EVO8 fourth gear would put you in the tens.

It was also very bolt to run the 46/22 combo but that was probably a perfect AFR for C16 mix. My 46/26 alway ran 11:1 which is fat for leaded fuel.
