iam curious to know what you guys think its the best for drag racing? is it the awd or the rwd?
if its awd how come dragsters arent awd?

 

I believe rear wheel drive are best for drag racing. AWD is best on a circuit/track or rally/all-terrain.

 

why whats the reason? isnt it better 4wheels then 2wheels with traction?

 

RWD is much better at higher power levels but you can't beat AWD for lower power/street tires.

Cars that trap what buschur and AMS do with RWD tend to run much better ETs

 

awd is better down into the 11's in my opinion but rwd is better anywhere past that

RWD is a much better platform for RWD because when the cars launch, the weight shifts to the rear(making it squat) and allowing the tires to pushed to the ground giving it great shoot out. Once out of the dig, the less power loss from the drivetrain will allow you use the power more efficiently than the AWD.

 

yea most dragsters push thousands of hp i dont think u could make a transfer case that could hold that much power n e ways if soo u will jus be adding alot of extra weight in mechincal parts

Nobody knows for sure but it is estimated at 8000whp.
