EVO IX at the drag strip

Alright guys I finally got a chance to take the IX to the drag strip. Here are the results. I had three runs in and my stock clutch started slipping more and more each run. Went to run the 4th time and while i was warming up the tires a bit the car just stood there because the clutch was slipping so bad so I decided not to even run it that time.

Each of the three runs were 12.5@ 108 with 1.8 60', the best one was as follows.

60'.................1.813
330................5.174
1/8.................8.010
MPH................86.34
1000..............10.447
1/4.................12.518
MPH................108.77

I should be trapping a little bit higher but I don't know maybe the clutch is slipping while im shifting and lose a couple of mph. Let me know what you think people.

I'm only gaining 24mph in the back end, and i think the least is 26mph so there is definitely som slippage happening going into 4th.

What kind of dyno did you pull 340whp on? I would think 340whp would be closer to high 11's.

In my 8, with 272 cams, TBE, 6-puck and lightweight flywheel, and about 22psi fading to 17, I ran 12.59@109. And that was with no second gear, with a self tune on it. I don't think I was anywhere near 340whp, unless maybe on a very high reading dyno.

Not knocking your times or anything, but I just think there is more in the car with that type of whp.

Also, I guess you could have just been slipping through the clutch that bad, if it was on its way out.

That 340 is a dynojet number it is probably about 320 on a mustang. The car is a 110 car but as you can see from the 1/8 it trapped 86 and only 108 in the 1/4 meaning it only picked up 24 which is really low and is not possible unless car is breaking up or the clutch is slipping, my clutch was def slipping because my car would just stand there when I would launch it until it grabbed. I would also feel slippage when i would throw it in 4th. It is not slipping a lot but to the point where it is going to make the difference on ET, MPH, and even 60'.

well if your at 340 on a dynojet, I would imagine it's a little less than 320 on a mustang. From what I can gather, it would be about 300 or so, which seems right, as you should be in the low 12's with a good clutch. 110mph aint bad for what you have done. Are you tuned? That could also get you up there a little higher.

Yes I am tuned by 4 wheel slide. The reason I say 320 on a mustang is because I had an 03 that was dynoed at 320 on a mustang and trapped 110. So i figure it is around there.
