Al - Have you looked into getting a cage? If so, any idea on cost, design, and what sort of hacking the interior will undergo to get it in?

Its just under $1000 to bend/build/install a cage, providing you send the car to the shop thats going to do it without interior/carpeting.. I had one done in an older 4 door of a similar size.. The one in my malibu was alot cheaper because the material was pre-bent..

BTW.. anyone have any pricing on a replacement ECU so I can have a flash done to my car without rendering my daily driver undrivable?

The ECU must be matched to your specific car or the imobilizer will not work

Works gets you the ecu back the same day so it takes only two days to do it

Very quick but for the integrity of the car 11.6 is by no means the best ever achieved. I know of the SuperEVO that runs 10.xx and I've seen a video of one in the 9s before. Just to give us all an idea of what it took how much have you spent approximately so far without going into complete detail.

Its NOT really needed

In the future - IF I feel like going fast - I can do it on the highway - I can go to a new track and I'll get two runs before they throw me off - - I can go to a track rental day - OR

I'll wait till next years DSM shootout !

I will NOT get a cage - this car is a daily driver that I full enjoy and don't want to take up any interior room

AFAIK - there is NO EVO VIII going faster or quicker then mine - so far

I know of many older evos that go real fast - e.g. AMS's 9 sec EVO II - but they are really differnet cars which weigh a lot less

If you know of any EVO VIII's that go faster - I'd LOVE to hear all about it !

Al, how 'bout that list of mods and the total cost you spent to date to achieve what you believe to be over 450Whp???

Thanks.

Actually it was 250 wheel HP and a very strong tail wind - also - I tilted the track downwards just before my run !!!!!!

I'll post up a mod list soon when my fingers feel like a lot of typing - or you can do a search under my name here and see everything I did so far

I never added up the costs yet - however - whatever it is - I saved a LOT of $$$ by doing the majority of the work in my garage - IF I had to pay someone to do it all it would have been very costly
