11.62 @ 121.27 - Quickest and Fastest EVO VIII in the World!

Couldn't even sleep knowing that my good buddy Dan from Pruven had gone faster in my own car than me !!!!

Was at E'town tonight to see what I could do on my home turf

1st run - I was still hot from the drive there and the clutch overhated and spun

After a long cool down - I spun all 4 wheels to a record smashing quickest and way fastest 11.62 @ 121.27 in 90 plus degree heat, very high humidity and very low pressure - it was equivalent to 2600 feet

60' 1.702
330' 4.885
660' 7.531
MPH 93.25
1000' 9.762
ET 11.627
MPH 121.27

Special thanks to the Pruven Intercooler - it neutralizes a hot day !

And to Works Rally.com - great Brain Flash - its nice to do 121.27 mph in 4th !

TOO bad they threw me OUT - after some begging and pleading I convinced them to let me do a few more low boost 12 second runs in the Import eliminations - BUT - they made it clear that I could NEVER try to go faster than I just did till I get a cage or they would ban me permanantly

BEST PART - driving 130 miles in the hot summer shore traffic - running this time in the heat of the day - actually being faster than 99.99 % of The Corvettes there for the Corvette Challange - then driving home with my A/C blasting without making any changes or adjustments ! The EVO is a GREAT car !

With or without spray? Anything else changed in the flash or just RPM limiter?

Congrats.

It was a goal of mine for a very very long time - - but after they dragged me up to the timing booth and read me the riot act - I started to wonder what would have happened if I had run on a higher boost ???? I have been stuck on a self imposed limit of 22.5 psi max boost even though the turbo will do 2 bars with ease - until I get the bottom end built !

These EVO engines are proving to be quite strong - - it seems the HP capacity is greater than I had anticipated

I estimate I was pushing about 480 - 500 wheel hp today and the engine held together no sweat

Nice freaking run Al... bet a lot of people would like to know a little more about what Works did for you... esp since you both are on different ends of the Nation if I remember right...

Again, kick *** run...

Al - sorry to go off-topic, but if you're a linguist, why is your grammar so poor. I am a linguist, too - that's why I ask.

BTW, what do you plan to do to strengthen the bottom end?

You can call David at Works! He'll tell you all about that Brain Flash. All I can say is I love what they did for me - I have no idea what they did - they didn;t even tell me how they did it - but it works like you can't believe - - they know what they are doing for sure.

I might know a little about Works products ... just wondering if you did any more than tell them what hard parts you had, and sent them your ECU. It seems they can do marvelous things with their reflash, but won't say weather it will "work with products other than Works". Guess I'm about to give up trying to get anything out of them, and just keep using what "Works".

I believe that Works just wants to focus on tuning cars that have the specific mods which they sell - although I am not sure about that

What ever they gave me - I used my emanage to fine tune it to my car

The real gain here - for me - was the action above the 7650 stock rev cut - - they have the fuel flowing perfrect to 8500 plus - they are real wizards of tuining
