No Excuses rules discussion - I have a question
going up to turbotrix right now to measure my lip and ill take pictures as well to show you.. like i said the bumper is no longer that low because when i went to Etown i wasnt able to drive around because the bumper would hit every time i hit a dip. so i went up to some guy who had a huggeee trailer and got shears from him and cut it real quick... so u will see how bad and high it is off the floor in about a hr.. and ill also be getting pictures from a guy that took pics of my car at the track also so you can see as well. and video
I think I will...as Jrod has my spot already reserved in the middle of route 18...Is this the spot with a view? oh this has been edited I see. This is my last post in this thread.
OK so this thread has nothing to do with the Evo that just beat Buschur's time. Well Buschur got knocked down to #3, so what. I know Dave will be back and take the throne again as King of Evos.
If the NHRA rule book states 3" than damn its 3". Whats so hard about reading English, never mind most of us went to public schools.

Brandon, I don't think you have to prove yourself to any of us. The rules do state 3" minimum from front to 12" behind the tire. You may not have even known about the rule or the possibility of it messing with the timers. I don't know you and am not accusing you of anything. The thread was started to ask a question (granted I'd say obviously from how your car was pictured in the post you made) but it is a legitimate question and is a concern because of it's effect on the timing.
It would do exactly what you pass looked like, killer 60' time, killer ET and the same MPH as normal. It is easy to see why the topic has been brought up. Honestly, I didn't even catch it when I looked at the picture you posted but I do for sure now see why it is a concern.
3" minimum, I am sure IHRA/NHRA has set it at 3" minimum to make up for any differences in the mounting of the stage beams from track to track. The timing lights at every track I know of are mounted and dismounted at each and every race, I can see how they'd move around and could vary by quite a bit.
This test tonight will tell the story.

I think the biggest problem is 70% of the people on this site don't even own a NHRA rule book.
If anyone was at an event such as NOPI, BOTI ect. and caught them using there front lip to stage the car, they would be DQed in a heart beat!
The front lip spoiler even if touching the ground will trip the first beam but wouldnt do anything since the vehicle would have to keep moving up to get to the front tire. At that point the the first beam would again come on and then you still have to go through the ROLLOUT to get the car staged. So the arguement is lacking. The only advantage would be at the other end in hopes to trigger the beam early with the lower spoiler, however under acceleration this would be very difficult as the beams are 1.65" high....
I think the rules should be, NO TRYING to make rules. The public will have already determined the winner.

At least the NHRA recognised the problem and made rules to stop that very thing from happenning again.
I've gotten into many fights when that was done. One particular camp was known for doing that a lot. It's shame because they are one of the most successfull camps in FWD import racing and had to rely on that practise many times to get a win.

rules now state nobody can be in front of the car while staging in Street Class..Wait, I mean Chris You are right about that..
( inside joke, paul will get it )
You need to ask Domingo about our staging fights with you know who!

They got us once very good and even laughed about it but we only let that happened once. After that it was staging wars and guess who always won with the super reaction times!!!

I'm not even going to get into adding weight on the return road to make weight at the scales or adding 'OXIDISERS' used in the fuel and once that was caught then in the oil to gain some power.
The list of ways to cheat can go on and on!
