that was a really nice read David..thanks for summing it up for everyone. It's amazing how a well put together EVO can survive the abuse from doubling or even tripling the stock horsepower.

I think everyone left the shootout on a high and are actively making plans to come back next year...it was a huge success, congrats.

David we will see how well things are going. I would like to come out to the event if I'm back up to speed. At least to have time to hang out and talk since you were ***** out last weekend. I will let you know when it gets a little closer.

I might try and head down to the event myself. It will all depend on if we have a golf tournament or not for school. Hopefully I can make it and run race gas and actually get in some passes.

I always use the hitting the Botts dots method, and then someone else wants to drive so we don't crash. It works every time. Mmmm more sleep .

Hay man it was good to meet you Sunday bro!
Let me know if you come down on sunday.

I got this from Mike in a PM...
Jeff,

I spoke to Cliff Wallace who runs the event. He said that he could care less about cages but NTR has the right to enforce whatever they want. In my experience, I have seen guys get warnings after 1 >11.49 pass and then the boot if they do it again. I have also seen guys slide by al day without issue.

It certainly is a gamble so there's nothing he can commit to in being able to help us.

Man, this was the best shootout yet! The whole weekend was a total blast! I have attended the shootout for the past 13 straight years, and I know that I've never seen so many people having FUN as what I saw this year. I didn't see hardly any bickering or drama the whole weekend, just a lot of people having a great time!

All the fun can be directly attributed to all the HARD work that the whole Buschur Racing Crew puts into making the shootout a success. Thanks guys!

The Dyno competition and hang out and David's shop was also better than ever! There were some really sweet cars and a lot cool people to talk to. Since we are all so busy and live a long ways away from each other, we don't all get together very often, but when we do, it's just like a big family reunion.

The racing on Sunday was crazy! I couldn't believe how many cars were there. Not only was there alot of cars, there were a ton of fast cars! Like others stated, there where 5 DSM's in the 8's, and a bunch in the 9's.

I have to give a special thanks to David for letting me drive his "BadBish" street car in the Evo Eliminator class this year. The car is simply amazing! We drove the car from his house to Sterks for breakfast. After breakfast, we drove the car to the track. The car ran numerous 9 second passes, won the Evo Eliminator class, and then was driven to pizza hut in norwalk, and then back home. I know that Eric, Jeff, and Tim's cars (Buschur built) were all driven to and from the track also with no problems. They all ran very low, low tens all day. Just a true testiment of a great engine builder and tuner!

I also have to give a special thanks to Renee Buschur for her wonderful hospitality and excellent food! This woman is a true Saint and works very hard during the weekend of the shootout also! Thanks Renee!

Take care,
Kevin

Kevin, it was nice to finally not have to run you in the first round, like I did for the last 4 years or so. It was a pretty funny running joke for a while, but I'm glad it's over. Good to see all you guys again as usual.
