Trip to Maui Raceway Park

Trip to Maui Raceway Park
Finally got to the track after over two years. Didn't turn out so well... after 26 passes I could only muster a 12.3@113 with a best trap of 114. Prep was HORRIBLE... couldn't get better than a 1.8 60'. I spun through first on numerous occasions, despite dropping my tire pressure from 35psi down below 20psi. Weather wasn't too favorable, and I had to deal with the wind going through the valley (those that have been to Maui know what I'm talking about). Also, I believe the timing system was off. I was passing through the trap damn near bouncing off my 8k rev limit. I should've been trapping between 116-118.
Oh well, **** happens. Hopefully next time I head out there the prep will be better.
Here's a vid from my best run. Got a bunch from inside the car, but since they all look the same, I just uploaded one.
Gotta get the rest from my camcorder to get all the outside videos.

Here's the breakdown of my two 12.3 runs:
60' - 1.8020
330' - 5.1551
1/8th ET - 7.9532
1/8th MPH - 88.90
1000' ET - 10.3560
1000' MPH - 102.27
1/4 ET - 12.3650
1/4 MPH - 112.74
60' - 1.8490
330' - 5.1659
1/8th ET - 7.9602
1/8th MPH - 88.54
1000' ET - 10.3629
1000' MPH - 102.50
1/4 ET - 12.3632
1/4 MPH - 113.05
On a side note, I am absolutely impressed by my Evo. I've put it through hell the past 2.5 years. Over 60 passes at the strip, whatever I could throw at it on the street, and the hell I've put it through during my few days in Maui (like the Hana HWY all the way to the 7 Sacred Pools (which is TORTURE) and two trips up and down Haleakala (just over 10k elevation) and not a single issue (besides a botched launch that fried my stock clutch).

I was trying everything. Launching harder, softer, messing with tire pressure, etc. Just couldn't get below the 1.8. I drove an Evo with brand-spanking-new tires and could only cut a 1.78. Back in MD I was cutting consistent low 1.7's bone stock and even hit a 1.6.
Next time we go out there I'ma make sure that they prep the track for us at the very least.
I got a video of me smoking my tires out the hole that I'll be uploading in the next day or two. It was my last run and I was running VERY low pressure.
Good thing I can say is my traps were very consistent even during hot lapping. Me and *constant_boost would run 7-8 times back to back and my traps wouldn't drop below 111. That's always a good thing. Although it's low as **** to begin with.
I'm gonna work on my tune some more now to see if I can squeeze more power out. I want to hit up the dyno sometime in the next month or so to see where I'm at.

yeah sounds like it was some bad prep, were you guys going around the water box or was that even possible?
I just about have Ed's tune finished and Nivez's still needs more work, we ran out of time before he could hit the track.
my local 1/8th mile track prep is so bad I couldn't get a good 60' until I put on the drag radials...I hooked better on the street with street tires.
