How to launch on the track?
Stock clutch def doesn't hold up to well LoL I bought my Evo new had 14000miles on it before I even tried launching and after 7 launches clutch was GONE! LoL def need an aftermarket if your going to launch. Agreeing with everyone else DONT DUMP! I did it just on accident and boom there went my Tcase. If it goes tho that just means time for a rebuild dont buy a new one. Runs so much better with it rebuilt.
if you break your trans just go to shepracing.com for a new custom built one. then you wont have any worries because its goin withstand anything you throw at it. i have a ix mr and my stock tranny broke, so i just went and got the 5 speed stage 3 from shep. yeah its more then what i need for the hp im making, but i dont have to worry about it breaking again.

Launching is simple.
Step 1: Stop
Step 2: Push in the clutch
Step 3: Put the car in first gear
Step 4: Let the clutch out to find where it engages and hold it just before that (it'll make it easier to slip/dump)
Step 5: Floor the gas, and hold it to the floor. You will start bouncing off the 2-step at 5000rpm and build around 10psi.
Step 6: DO NOT let off the gas pedal at ALL, slip out the clutch until you feel it grab, then let go.
Step 7: DO NOT let off of the gas pedal until you shift to 2nd gear. The gas pedal should be held to the floor from the beginning until you shift to 2nd.
Step 8: Continue shifting gears accordingly.
that's how i've always done it, and it was good enough to get me and my IX MR to 12.82 @ 107.41 with only a cat back, no tune, no other power adders, and a slipping stock clutch.

question:
i am on the stock clutch, i know the stocker is not made for this kinda abuse, launched it once so far. my questions is if i launch it once in a while (once a week) with the stocker, you think it can hold up?

Things that will kill the clutch:
- Removing the restrictor pill.
- Riding the clutch.
- Slipping the clutch too much on a launch / takeoff.
