As I mentioned above, even with the 1.6 60' my rpms drop to 3500 in 1st gear after I launch. I think that's where I'm loosing all my time. Shouldn't they stay higher than that?

What does everyone else rpms drop to in 1st?
are you using NTLS? and yes, your rpms should not drop that much no matter what. if your shifting at 7k from 1-2 then you should see no more than a 1-1.2 k in rpms i believe.

No NTLS. Just normal shifting as fast as I can.

When I'm shifting around 7300rpms it drops to around 5k. I do have a light weight flywheel so I'm not sure if that's why it drops so quick or just my shifting.

But I would think that the launch would not drop soo low with that good of a 60'.

meltdown, did Chad tune your car?

He's the last tuner that's touched my car's tune...and that's been over two years ago. Wish I was still back in Kansas to have him iron mine out. I gotta climb back up the list...starting to slip.

The quicker the clutch disengages the higher the drop because the higher load. Thats why its critical to have a good clutch so you can slip it slightly keeping the rpms up... 2k between shifts is about normal.

I would have thought that getting a 1.64 60' would indicate that my launch technique was good but I guess it still needs some work.

So do you think that getting the rpms to stay up higher would net the faster 1/8 and then get me deeper into the 11's?

I still don't buy 85% duty cycle with stock fuel setup and pressure with just a walbro and 28psi on pump 93octane gas.
