launching methods
I recently finnished reading a post on Z06 vs. FP Red and I read several suggestions to brake boost. I understand what is meant by that method of launching. My question is. What are the benefits of brake boosting vice 2-step?
note: I understand that brake boosting and 2-step are not the same thing.

brake boostin and 2 step are not the same....
my launch goes like so....
Stage the car...
Press the clutch in all the way...
Let the clutch out slowly until the car lurks forward...
Push the clutch back in just enough to stop the car from rolling AKA the sweet spot....
Hit the 2-step mines at 5800 rpm...
Slip the clutch out to engage the clutch/ drivetrain...
As soon as the drivetrain is engaged i let the clutch out fast...

Brake boosting is a technique used to get the turbo to spool/boost by depressing the brake pedal and appling more throttle at a constant speed it will allow you to get the turbo spooling so your not in lag when you go into WOT. This technique is mostly used in highway runs for example a race from 30mph-140mph or whatever they race from : )

I don't own a Evo, i have a WRX. Heres how i launch my car:
1. clutch pedal to floor
2. car is put into first gear
3. lift the clutch pedal to where its just at the point where its going to touch the flywheel and hold it there
4. tap the gas pedal a few times and rev it between 4-5.5k rpm
5. hard to explain this part so..... let off on the clutch, do not slip it or dump it but imagine you just stepped in dog crap, thats how your foot should react BUT do not let the clutch go back on its own weight AND at the same time put the gas pedal to floor (WOT)

Launching is simple.
Step 1: Stop
Step 2: Push in the clutch
Step 3: Put the car in first gear
Step 4: Let the clutch out to find where it engages and hold it just before that (it'll make it easier to slip/dump)
Step 5: Floor the gas, and hold it to the floor. You will start bouncing off the 2-step at 5000rpm and build around 10psi.
Step 6: DO NOT let off the gas pedal at ALL, slip out the clutch until you feel it grab, then let go.
Step 7: DO NOT let off of the gas pedal until you shift to 2nd gear. The gas pedal should be held to the floor from the beginning until you shift to 2nd.
Step 8: Continue shifting gears accordingly.
that's how i've always done it, and it was good enough to get me and my basically stock IX MR to 12.82 @ 107.41 with only a cat back, no tune, no other power adders, a boost leak, and a possibly slipping stock clutch.
