First time out on the AEM
First time out on the AEM
Last Saturday i went out first time on the AEM to test the car. I was particularly worried on the launch since the AEM has more features than the stock ecu, like specific fuel cut, ignition cut, ignition retard, speed that the 2step will deactivate etc etc...
I managed 3 passes. All three passes on pump with a boost pressure from 22 to 25 depending the pass... I also put the car on the scale with me and i was 3884 pounds...
First pass:
22psi as i drove the car to the track
34psi tire pressure on my Dunlop M3 Winters
5800rpm 2step
60ft 1.794
330ft 5.112
1/8 7.826
mph 89.32
1000ft 10.121
1/4 12.031
mph 118.33

Clearly the car had much more to give since the boost pressure was way to low as the AEM log showed...
Second pass
23.5 psi as i drove the car to the track
34psi tire pressure on my Dunlop M3 Winters
5800rpm 2step
60ft 1.846
330ft 5.064
1/8 7.713
mph 90.50
1000ft 9.998
1/4 11.887
mph 119.31
The car started to wake up. Clearly i was up in power but i had a bad 60ft... Didn't adjust tire pressure at all. Unfortunately i dont have a video as i made a mistake and instead of switching on the camera i switched it off!!!!
Third pass
25 psi as i drove the car to the track
34psi tire pressure on my Dunlop M3 Winters
5800rpm 2step
60ft 2.067
330ft 5.596
1/8 8.275
mph 90.65
1000ft 10.544
1/4 12.428
mph 120
As time was passing by the track warmed up and i guess became stickier. As you can tell i bogged pretty bad but i didn't let off. Stayed on the gas and finished my pass. My worst 60ft, my worst 1/8, my worst 1000ft but my best trap for the day! Clearly the car if it didn't bog would have even higher trap and probably my best ET to date...
Well next time...

Definitely the car feels much smoother than the stock ecu and definitely it hasn't really shown its potential yet. I need more practice!!!

The scale at E-town is wacky..2 weeks ago I weighed my car twice after 2 runs in a row, first it said 3480, next it said 3799.. Only reason I did it twice was because I forgot what it said and I lost the slip I wrote it down on but later found it..
