My 2010 season opening passes @ Etown
My 2010 season opening passes @ Etown
The season started and of course i couldn't resist on having some fun. I raced the car one more time before it goes to THESHOPCT to fix the tranny and prepare a couple of stuff for this year.
Car of the garage, with my winter oil, 28psi boost, 93 octane pumpgas, 3360 with me in and of course on my Dunlop M3 winter snow tires! Ohhh and my messed up tranny that doesn't want to shift properly pass 7000rpm in 3rd and 5th...
Four passes:
1st pass of the high just dropped the tires pressure to 23psi:
60ft - 1.915
330ft - 5.189
1/8 - 7.785
mph - 98.68
1000ft - 9.953
1/4 - 11.711
mph - 129.32
2nd pass a tiny better on the 60ft and slightly cleaner shifts
60ft - 1.877
330ft - 5.038
1/8 - 7.658
mph - 98.58
1000ft - 9.83
1/4 - 11.595
mph - 129.98
3rd pass didn't stay long on the 2step and bogged really bad. Then i hit rev limiter in 1st, 2nd, missed 3rd....
60ft - 2.175
330ft - 5.573
1/8 - 8.450
mph - 90.19
1000ft - 10.717
1/4 - 12.538
mph - 126.44
4th pass in eliminations. I dialed 11.50 but i broke out. I really shortshifted 3rd to get it in but i was on the edge in terms of boost....
60ft - 1.882
330ft - 5.008
1/8 - 7.496
mph - 99.37
1000ft - 9.612
1/4 - 11.351
mph - 129.92
i was very happy with the last pass since it is my best ET to date. My previous best was 11.36 but with 132mph trap and 1.70 60ft... I guess the short shifting of 3rd really helped and it is better that revving out 2nd and making forever to shift into third...
If this pass had a similar 1.70 60ft i was looking a very very low 11 sec pass completely unprepared!

The car is in the shop already, the tranny was pulled and sent to John Shepherd for a Shep treatment and i am waiting to get it back.
As soon as i get it back, i will install a set of Apexi N1 coilovers, and i am getting a set of 16" Hoosier QTPs...
The car will drop around 100-140 pounds:
- 32 from coilovers
- 17 rear crash beam
- 20 no toolbag
- 15 battery jumper
- 28 from tires (Hoosiers 18lbs, dunlops 25lbs)
The above is 117 lbs...
PLus i have never used racegas yet and i have never passed 30psi so we have more power if needed...

The mods are:
- THESHOPCT 2.0 shortblock
- stock unported head with Cossie M2 and supertech dual springs
- stock intake manifold
- stock throttle body
- stock ingition
- BR FS635 turbokit
- BR race core fmic
- BR twin pumper with PTE 1200cc
- BR downpipe w/ UR resonated testpipe w/ Invidia G200 catback
- BR licp w/ Nisei uicp w/ Tial bov
- Quartermaster twin
- AEM EMS tuned by JuniorAWD
MANY THANKS to Import2race for the footage, Blackdemon for the crazy picture and everyone who enjoys our crazy hobby!

Hopefully my next outing will be in the 10s...

Good solid pump gas power Kouzman! Spinning out of the hole and a trans that doesnt want to go into 3rd arent doing you any favors though..lol
Hows that QM clutch treating you? What about in NYC traffic?

Now for the clutch I won't lie! It is horrible if you get stuck in traffic. How after 2500 miles I figured out how to make it less painful bt nevertheless the QM is a great track drag clutch with no street manners! Lol
I don't really mind since I do not drive the car every day and it is the best clutch money can buy for high power levels...
When the time comes to change it I migh try the triple os giken or maybe the new QM that is coming out.
In terms of power I am not really looking for more. Assuming that I hav another 50-100 on racegas or e85 that's more than enough for a very fast and fun street car!

Kouzman your car runs STRONG for the limited mods, it impresses me every time. I cant wait for your trans to get fixed.. It sounds like you miss 3rd gear on every run and still run that hard! So Awesome that you were way way faster then every suby you raced! Let me know when your car is back in action so we can hit up Island!
Thanks for the comments guys!
Can't wait to get the car ready and hit the track again!
Freddy i will definitely let you know when i am going. It all depends on Shepherd's turnaround!
