Slicks on rear only ? yes / no
Slicks on rear only ? yes / no
Ok, if i won the award for the stupidest question this year, so b it
. I was curious if would even be worth it to run slicks on the rear only. I have access to two evo rims for dirt cheap and want to put MT cycle slicks on ( ive read the debate on safety) and wanted to know if im wasting my time with this thought. why not all 4? because of cost. My thought is, since most of weight transfers to the rear, why not just the rear. comments?

There are several reasons.. 1 is that the overall diameter will be different from front to rear and will tear up the driveline.. But the main reason is what spins on the Evo is the 2 front wheels not the rears.. When weight shifts to the rear the front light up like a fwd car.. it doesnt matter what you have for a diff, quaife, RS etc.. Same story..

AWD means all wheel drive, therefore, all tires need to be the same.
Even is everyday tires are different between the front and back, the ACD on 05s and 06s throws a code for the ACD. All tires need to be the same. Think, all the high performance awd evos you see at the track run slicks on all four.
