Is the stock clutch slipping? I think some of the PR guys have gone 11s on the stock clutch. Might be worth a try now if yours still holds. Good luck .

I concur, stock clutch isn't too bad. Mine is still holding up and I am on Corn power.

400wtq area. So it's worth a try if you know you are going to be getting a clutch soon anyway.

On sunday october 11th i took my X to the track with my good friend kouzman for a test and tune session. The runs where made at Island dragway. Mods of my car as follows:

Nisei 1pc. UICP
HKS drop-in filter
UR Resonated test pipe
GST boost pill
Ecuflash tune by THE SHOP and myself ( 25.5psi to 18psi at redline)

Car was full weight, pump gas, plus 215 lbs driver, minus spare tire and jack. Here are the timeslips

Next modis going to be a clutch, because the stock one took a pretty good beating on those passes.

Updated. Nice job ETS. Let me drive it

I give permission to any forum moderators to update my first post. I'm absent for weeks at a time sometimes and I don't want to tick anyone off.

I also added Honorable Mention. Papos 11.8 @ 118 is stout and it shows people what can be done to break that 11 barrier. So any 11 second runs get put under there that aren't in the top 10. If I took you off and you have run 11s, drop me a PM and I'll put you back up.

As great as the peak power numbers are for the Red, I'm not convinced how much better it is for 1/4 mile racing on pump gas. It is clearly a big power maker on good fuel once you turn the boost up, but most of the graphs people post up on pump look lazy as hell down low where the stock turbo shines. Maybe more tuning than a couple short hours on a dyno could resolve some of that. ET is all about getting to the first 500 feet

+1

Stock turbo, stock cams on E85/race gas is where it's at. Should be 11.9s all day with a good driver. There is no reason to run a Red or Dom 2 without upgrading fuel. I don't know why everyone is in a hurry to swap and then all it ever sees is 24psi and 91 oct. This was a lesson learned through experience... 10,000 miles on the Red with pump and now 5,000 more with E85.

PS Drag... how about just listing everyone 11.99 and better? That would be easier to hit than the current moving target, especially for those of us in need of the 'nut behind the wheel mod'.

Stock turbo, new cams is for sure not the way to go on E85, they are basically paper weights, E85 was very nice. 11.9's would be nice, I should get to the track, I am afraid of screwing my stock clutch though.

I believe the most important thing on going fast on a stock turbo, stock cams car is shift points. Such cars dont make power past 7 grand. Shifting at 7600 or 7800 just slows you down. Shift your cars at 6700-6800 and use the hefty midrange torque and than ride 4th all the way through. At least thats what i did and went 12,34 @ 111.8 on minimal mods.

BTW stock clutch is only good for a couple good launches at the track and then its done

I'm also in favor of just showing 11.99 or faster runs on this list to keep it simpler. Wow I'm already about to get bumped from the list too! haha

BTW props to ETS for pulling out the BIG MPH from their new setup, truely impressive!

Man I have Launch my car i say 20+ times only got 7k miles one the car but clutch so far is fine and I ran 12.8@109mph with no traction in first. Think has a lot to do with know how to make clutch work the best.

If you're spinning tires most of the time when launching, then thats part of the reason why your clutch hasn't burnt up at the track. dead hooking at the track would be a lot more stressful on your clutch and other driveline parts. not saying the stock clutch cant last at the track though, just that spinning is gonna take a lot of the stress off the driveline.
