I used the Nitto's for a couple of seasons. They're too hard for good traction. In last years shootout in Ohio, you can clearly see all 4 tires smoking on several of our launches during the eliminations and time trials. The Nitto's had an excellent fit and look, other than that, they didn't have much to offer when it came to traction. I've searched and searched for good compounds and sizes for the 17's and now, finally, Hoosier has stepped up and agreed to build something in exactly what we need.

I guess this Hoosier should be better right?
The Hoosier's compound will be much softer than the Nitto.

The Nittos i believe are the hardest compound of all the DR's out there.

I ran those a little over a year ago and they were ok but not much better than your avg all season tire.

I'm still curious to see performance of the sidewalls

Props to Hoosier for stepping up.

<-- I'll be buying a set of Hoosiers as soon as they're available. Who will we be able to buy these through?

I hope they will released it soon.

The nitto's are a great tire when they are warmed up, but on an awd car they can't get the heat they need in a drag racing scenario.

9sec9 and I committed to, and secured the entire first production run of these tires to get things rolling quicker. You can PM 9sec9, or myself for info, price, and availability. Production tires will be available no sooner than two months from now after development is complete. Indy

Here's how the Nitto's 'HELD' the power during the 2008 Shootout. Traction for us was non-existent.
