Wing vs wingless??
I have done a search but couldn't fined anything?
What is better for drag racing wing or no wing? I see a little bit of both when I go to the strip. How badly will the wing hurt your time if it even does?
Would like to see pro's and con's for this.(Drag only)
Ok I ran a 12.14@113mph. I have a wing on my car. Now if I didn't have that wing would I have it the 11's? I know if I had better tires and the track was preped right I would of. I had 18 psi in the tires and a crappy 1.8 60ft. When I am used to getting 1.6-1.7 60ft with street tires.

You don't need a wing on an evo for drag racing...why would you? You want less resistance and a wing causes more. You'd gain maybe a few mph which is all going to pend on alot of other factors...with that being said, take off the wing and run it at the track. There's not really any more science to it then that.

That is what I am trying to fined out what is better. So with me putting that wing is affective after 55mph it just isn't good to have down force on the back of the car during drag racing? With out the wing makes that car more slip stream going down the track right?

The wing weights 7 pounds I believe.
I do not have a direct comparison with the wing or not but I removed it nevertheless.
With the wing I was trapping 121mph but with 100awhp less. Now to date my best trap is 131mph with the extra 100awhp or so but also without the wing.
What I have noticed however and because of me running lower tire pressure the car if I brake hard waves it's tail sometimes... Maybe the wing would help but at the same time when trapping over 130mph I am not sure that the wing wouldn't cut a mile or two!!!
Now I am just trying to break softer and use more braking area at the track...

Generally speaking, removing the wing will reduce drag, so it'll help with the ET/MPH. Whether that change will be significant at lower horsepower is another matter.
Personally, I took the wing off during my last trip to the track, since it's only 4 bolts and I was trying to hit a MPH goal (125mph, which I did get).

I could see the wing helping if you are rally racing or do time attack. I could see the reason for removing for drag racing. The whole drag on the car makes sense.
I know it has 4 bolts. But isn't their some kind of double side tape their from the factory? I do see some kind of black in between their.
