slicks
sidewalls are a little softer in a all out race setup i've been told (both being wrinklewalls). compounds used are usually pretty close. on a couple camaros i've built i had issues getting them to hook on dot M/T's but the full slick M/T's same size and press hooked fine.

Why not try out the Hoosier 245/45-17 slicks from 9sec9's site? Im thinking about picking them up because theyll fit on the stock size wheel.
I dunno if that appeals to you but it does to me because I dont want to have to do a small brake kit and dont want to get a whole new set of wheels to fit the QTP's on.

I already have the small brakes from ams to run a smaller rim and have less rotational mass. The weight difference is insane between the stock rims with a motorcycle slick and a 15 inch rim with a slick. And for what I'm trying to do with my evo, every lb counts
I dd that kit for about a year. so i say you can and james has been for a few months now also.
James just buy the same fricking tires i have and get it over with. then get back on that track.

hey now its a lot of cash, if a non DOT slick is worth a tenth more then its worth the extra cash IMO and yes you can use the small brakes for DD. AMS says you shouldnt use them for auto x type events though cause they cant handle the extra heat cause of there size
You can actually get the M/T slicks from Summit for cheaper than the Hoosier QTP. No brainer for me, unless you are trying to be competitve (which makes no sense if you are on stock block).
