Showdown@Etown/Mitsubishi Day/EVO vs WRX
I am in denile.. The subaru RS Coupe with the swap (the racecar) got beat in the semis by one of our cars. Then said subaru owner complained to staff about the street evo not having a cage. Then they immediately DQ the evo and give the win to the canadian subaru driver to race a subaru that had gone faster then 11.5 twice in the day, Which would go on to lose and take 2nd place.. Great job of being selective on the one warning before DQ. The owner of the Impreza coupe got his *** handed to him and was nothing less then OUT DRIVEN by a full street car that took the win before the DQ. Why even bother with a final round if its going to be a cage or no cage finish lol. I had such a terrible weekend.
BTW E-town also has been kicking people out of track rentals for no cages as well..If anything this is forcing alot of people to take it to the street..

I don't get it.Keith
I know Jeff, Bean and Keith for over 12 years now. They are the right shop to sponsor the race in NJ.
I think the event should be held the latest in Sept. Or earliest in June / July.
I think the fact that Mitsu guys dont follow the rules is ridiculous. Alot of cars running safety equipment gain 200-300 lbs and spend thousands on doing it. Why are the guys running safety equipment doing it? Because those are the rules! For example, I added a engine pan to my car last week, as the rules stated. It took an entire day to do, but it was done. No excuses.
In addition, A lot of the fast cars broke the week before. I know everyone has set their car to kill, but now they are super unreliable.
Here is my only good pass of the day. Hit the brakes at the 1000 mark

i understand what you are saying rules are the rules and i fully agree with that but what happends is a lot of people do not want to put cages and extra saftey parts on their daily drivers or cars they use on the weekendsto them its just not worth it. Many of them also do not always want to street race and just want to have safe place to race so the track is perfect for them and they get kicked off and it just sucks.
It was stated MULITIPLE times in this thread that E-town is very strict on safety rules. Are the tech guys suppose to know how fast every car is? Especially when most of the people say that there 10 or bottom 11 second car "runs 12's". Bottom line, you knew if you went faster then 11.5 without a cage or safety equipment that you would get DQ'd or kicked out. You then get DQ'd and complain about it.
I don't get it.

I totally agree, and that is not the point I am at all frustrated with, if that was the only concern I would swallow it without complaint.
I do not believe the subaru fell into the "street trim" criteria, but no one complained at the track or at all until now. Also, the car he raced after losing to ben should have been DQ'd as well, but was not, and was awarded 2nd place.. I just wanted to make sure the EVO crowd knew how it all went down. Do you understand my reasoning behind this now?

WOW total whinery
After the race I lost I went back to my pits and heard my name over the PA call me to the tower to tell me the other guy with the evo got disqualified.
I never said nothing, the track officials obviously were doing their job.
My car has run 9.9 and I went to this event with the boost lowered due to not having a 9 second lisence and fear of getting the same rules enforced on me.I backed off on my car to be legal and not run a 9
I played by the rules built my car to run low tens legally, it is nota stripped racecar, I have full interior minus back seat, full glass, all steel body, 2 mufflers, full exhaust exiting the rear of the car. A cagethat weighs 160 lbs
WTF do they want.
I have a street driven STi that runs high tens and I got bounced for not having the proper safety equipment(no cage) thats why I built this car.
Mr Petey in my opinion is just being a cry baby.
The track officials told me I was disqualified after the first round because someone complained I had slicks on the car. Mine are DOT approved AND the very same tire that quite a few of the evo`s where running against me with only mine are the 16 inch version Hoosier QTP DOT legal.
I dont mind someone complaining but do your homewrok first before you open your mouths.
I won the Bracket Competition in wifey's STi (NOVTEC plate) running a best of 11.6@121mph, stock motor, stock location turbo, stock trans, pump gas.
Fun day, but kind of bitter sweet walloping on my Mitsubishi colleagues out there, hahahaha...

I wanted to run my auto dsm in the street 16, but I did'nt have enough time to get the cage in the car and have it completely ready, and I knew they would laugh at me, or boot me after one pass. But I completely did'nt think of running brackets with the car and just back the boost down. I drove the evo there, and did'nt even think to run that in stock appearing or bracket
.I think if the 900 cars that were in the parking lot entered (including myself), regardless of sponsered cars, it would have been better ha ha!
It was such a nice day compared to last years 100+ degrees outside.

On a side note my wife drove my Silver stock turbo evo in the bracket class and ran 12.04@112 on 18x9.5" Rotas. She cut a 1.68 60ft and a 4.933 330ft.
She drives better then most of the guys out there.
She won a few rounds before missing 3rd gear and losing to a Suby.Keith
Here's the video from the event(not recorded by me)...Its 36 minutes long

I understand Petey. If there was a problem with the car then someone should have said something to one of the track officials.
