Yes the back seat is 24lbs... There are so many other things that do not show right away...

Rims, tires, trunk crap, underbraces, brakes, small batteries, lighter front seats, etc etc....

And don't forget... We have seen "full interior" cars weighting 3000 lbs with driver.... Anyway...

I will be running around 3350 with driver (driver 230lbs)...

Getting dropped off at Turbo Trix this week for a tune. Now its down to if i can get a cage installed by then..

Its gonna be close!!!

speaking of which, whats the tube diameter thickness required for mild steel.. its 1 5/8 tube i know... is it 1/8"?

It depends on which part of the cage your needing the letters are in reference to the NHRA rule book for 2009.

The "A" bars are 1 5/8 " MS = .118 CM = .083

The "B" bars are variable depending on how you run them.

The "C" bars are 1 /14" MS = .118 CM =.083

The "D" bars are 1 1/4" MS = .118 CM = .083

I was going to keep it simple with all the same thickness... Simple 6 point cage.. Just gotta find a good harness now..

Make sure to use Chromemoly. Its lighter and you can run smaller size tubing.

My bad a little overkill but at least if anyone else needs the info it's there!

I call 5/6 pointers "bars" and 8/10 pointers "cages"

If your running on Saturday ONLY for test and tune are there specific rules(Full interior etc) or do the rules only apply to the people trying to qualify/compete/race on sunday ??

It's a 1 day event on saturday the 23 and vw & audi on sunday 24..
