Australia actually. STM fastest e8/e9

I read all the hype on h-t about this car. It's as much of an s2k as Brent rau's car is an Eclipse. It still has an s2k shell, that's been supported by a moly tube chassis. Please don't come here to run your mouth. Nice times we look forward to seeing how the car does on a well prepped track. GL!

They've done some pretty serious mods to that S2000, but please dont downplay the work done to the Evos I mentioned earlier. Many people on this forum believe those cars are no longer true Evos either. To get down to low 8s in these cars you have to go pretty extreme.

I am not running my mouth nor looking to start any drama. I am an Evo IX owner myself and love the car! I have the utmost respect for my fellow owners. However, I am a former S2000 owner and still have a lot of admiration for the car. I can't help but get excited when I see an S2000 finally run some crazy times.

I am a fan of the import scene in general and keep an open mind. Unfortunately not all Evo owners are this way.

I was referring to this comment.

It serves no purpose but to stir the pot. There are several Evo's that are faster than this s2000...not to mention several DSM's. It certainly doesn't hold a candle to RWD 4 cylinder SRA car with an auto gear box like Brent Rau's.

Like I said before great times, I wish the best on a well prepped track, their car is undoubtedly the fastest s2k chassis out there... but its not necessary to start talking smack to AMS, Bushur, STM, etc who would run in a completely different class.

Please don't drag Honda-tech drama over here.

In a professionally sanctioned event, wouldn't they all compete in the Outlaw class? I am definitely not talking smack to these shops an have nothing but the utmost respect for them. I would hope that seeing another import car run these kind of times that they would be further motivated.

i am a big fan of s2k and that will be my next car soon BUT big BUT you can not compare the evo to an s2k when it comes to money spent per power ratio...and also the weight is a big factor too, a full ungutted s2k weighs less than a gutted evo...and offcourse the powertrain, so when you say comparing apples to apples its not true whatsoever....on the other hand that s2k is sick as hell, and it can move no doubt.

It seems like you are trying to say a s2000 is a better platform than an evo and that is why many people are having problems. Don't forget that evo's have been used to make great drag cars and great road course cars but i have yet seen a s2k win a road course? i have seem them run but not win much if at all. Also, making awd cars go in the 7's is much harder than rwd. It is easy as hell to break a t-case with that much power hitting it that fast that goes to 4 wheels. Then you said that s2k's are raising the bar in the import category, no they are raising the bar for s2k's absolutely, but when it comes to imports they still have a way to go. I read up on s2k's before when i thought about buying one and the biggest problem is a poorly setup chassis when it comes to racing (drag or road course). Evo's and dsm's come with great chassis' from the manufacturer and need only modified when going into extreme racing.

I am by no means stating as such and I apologize if I came across that way. Again, I am a current Evo owner and love the car. And again, I am a former S2000 owner and still admire the car. Both perform extremely well in their intended environment.

Regarding S2000s not winning any road racing events, I don't believe that to be true. When I used to have an S2000, I was on S2000 forum quite a bit and saw various posts where owners had won various national events, whether it was for road racing, autocrossing or both.

Either way that S2000 is very fast and I can appreciate all of the work involved in making it so.

This car would be direct competition for other Solid axle, RWD, 4cyl.. Go look at what those guys run... That car is about 1sec behind the fast rwd/4cyl guys. Maybe just Maybe you could compare it to Shep's car very loosely.. Its still slower in ET/MPH and about 5yrs late to that party. Not to mention that one of those 8sec EVOS like AWD would probably mop it up on the street.... Well probably not since you couldn't actually drive that s2k on the street.

Im not saying the car isn't cool.. but in the grand scheme of import racing, its not doing anything that hasn't been done.
