How about we give props when they are due instead of continuing to look for ways to minimize their accomplishments? 5 years ago nobody was looking to go all out with their S2000. Parts werent available back then that are now. There are 3-4 other S2000s that will see 8s this year.

dammit why is everything here a freaking pissing match. i think people just like to argue.

- yes, it is an amazing car, getting faster, and deserves respect
- no, you cannot compare it to evos or sheps time bc it was a 5 speed. NOT apples to apples
- its aweomse that PR is still killing it in the drag scene
- we all know the evo is more capable in other areas of racing
- the OP has already stated hes not trying to down play the evo (he drives one), just respecting another car. and he has said he is not talking down to US shops. Period

its a great car. lets just respect the car for its accomplishments and just bc its an evo site doesnt mean all the sudden its evo vs S2k.

okay, end rant. maybe its jus been a long day. cheers everyone

Why? Because this guy has had a cocky attitude this entire thread .

Ok you want credit where it's due? Here:

WOW, for such a lame, slow, underpowered, fragile platform, you guys are flying!!!!

You're really "giving the competition a run for it's money!"...even though you don't know what class it runs .

Give me a break. If you want people to respect that car, don't put them on the defense, and show some modesty. Remake the thread, throw a pic in there, and get off your high horse and I'm sure everyone will love the car.

Ok guys, not going to try and type too much right now as I am on my iPad.

I am not trying to instigate a pissing match, match one car against another, etc. This is the second thread I've posted about an S2000 running fast in the 1/4. The first thread ended ugly and from the looks of things this thread isn't doing much better.

As I've stated in possibly this thread and for sure others, I am a former S2000 owner and now have a Evo IX. As a quick reference, I had a 2006 S2000 and was first in the WORLD to have both a reflash and fully programmable factory ECU for the S2000 (both from Hondata). I made 497rwhp@13 psi @ only 7700 RPMs with a Full-Race turbo kit, Precision GT3567R turbo, stock block/head, 91 octane on a dynapack. Still head 1300 RPMs to tune, power wS going through the ceiling, but had boost control issues and had to halt the tuning at the time.

I had decided to go full drag with my S at the time. Cut the **** out of a practically brand new car. Spent almost $50k on her. Lost my passion, decided to cut my losses and whored her out.

At the same time I bought my wife an Evo IX which we have now. Spent a tad over $20k on her thus far.

I am talking about S2000s on this forum for several reasons. First and foremost I am a former owner and have nothing but the utmost respect for the car. I am proud to finally see owners take the car where I wanted to almost 5 years ago.

Second, there are many people on this forum who are either former S2000 owners or simply S2000 enthusiasts who want updates on the car.

Finally, for those of us who are able to think big picture this is a shoutout for us sports compact car enthusiasts.

Again, this isn't an Evo v. S2000 thread. Unfortunately some of you tried to make it that way and the overall theme was missed.

Let's move on from any drama and appreciate those who dedicate their time and money to representing us import car owners.

Actually you did that.

You kept trying to compare it to other cars or say its now faster then so and so.

You could have just made the thread showing the accomplishment and left it at that. But instead you kept putting up remarks that were about how much faster or quicker it was then other cars. Blame yourself for the thread turning into what it did, not everyone else.

I've reread some of my posts, and you guys are right--I've acted like a cocky douchebag. My apologies!

STM's car is more than capable of running those times and that MPH. im sure we'll see a 7 out of it this year.
