18" Drag Radials

Is anyone runing 18" wheels with drag radials? I bought 18' advans rs a while ago and I think I made a mistake because now my car spins from a 40 roll and If I ever decided to take to the track are the 18' going to be a good Idea?

No matter what kind of tire you get, it's going to be tough to get traction with an 18" wheel, because you have a limited amount of sidewall. Sidewall and height on a tire are arguably more important than width when it comes to traction.

I run Mickey Thompson 245/45/18's on my Enkei's RPF1's as my street tires and they are very nice. Mid 1.5 sixtys are pretty easy and they are a DOT Radial.

18's are usually heavier then say a 16 or 17" rim. If you can get a lightweight 18" rim with a good drag radail like the MT's they will work well. The tire I listed above has about a 26" diameter. I wouldn't suggest that tall of a tire until about 550whp. Anything under that power level I'd get the BFGoodrich 225/45/17 drag radial which isn't as tall of a tire.
