Before and after 1/4 mile today
Stage 1 minus 1/4 mile today
I'm not really into drag racing, but I like to go and see what I can do nonetheless. The last time I dragged a few weeks back my car was completely stock. Now, I call my Stage 1 the Stage 1 minus because I have not yet installed my cams gears. It has never been tuned; I just bolted on the exhaust and the Xede. Like last time, I added two and a half gallons of 104 unleaded. This time, I was able to run the 93 octane map. I was at Carlsbad Raceway in San Diego County.
Today, unfortunately, my tank was still on full and I had a couple of extra things in car compared to a couple of weeks ago. I estimate I was carrying between 40 and 50 pounds more than the last time I raced. Other than that, EVERYTHING was equal: Weather was about the same, same drag strip, same lane, same high rpm clutch drop. I was really hoping to be anywhere in the high 12s, but I'm satified with my improvement. Also, I am a completely inexperienced amateur drag racer. These two results are actually the only two times I have ever dragged in my life. Remember, reaction times don't affect the times underneath. They only help you against your opponent. Here is the before and after Vishnu:
Stock.......................................... With Vishnu
.726.................reaction................. .591
1.989.................60 ft .................. 1.976
5.663.................330 ft ................. 5.48
8.776 .............. 1/8et .................. 8.42
78.92 ............... 1/8 mph .............. 80.63
13.719 ............. 1/4 et ................ 13.105
100.52 ............. 1/4 mph ..............106.66
Kinda glazed my clutch today so I couldn't try a second run. But, as you can see, I did .61 secs faster and over 6 mph faster. I only wonder about what I would have run with my car completely emptied out and only two gallons of 104 inside with the 104 xmap running.
Finally, by luck, a stock Cobra Mustang was lined up with me. I smoked him, but he was an awful driver. VERY fun to knock off the V8s.

I get Sunoco 104 unleaded in Temecula at Down's fuel on Diaz Rd. They have another store in Corona that always has it in stock. It is about 28 bucks for 5 gallons.

Smog,
Thanks so much for taking the time to do this for me! I think I've gotten to the bottom of it. With your time above on the right, the 1/4 mile ET and trap is almost identical to one of my bad launch runs as well. The 1/8th ET is identical almost too, but the 1/8th trap is way low on this slip too. FWIW, I'd bet good money that you're trapping 4-5mph higher in the 1/8th than your slips say you are. I'm very impressed with your car and your Vishnu modded times!
Thanks again for helping me so much!
