evo x drag racing questions please help!!!!!
So my motor build is finally complete and my stock appearing turbo setup is still on the car. The final plan for the car is to gta 6765 turbo kit on the car but for now m sticking with the stock appearing.
My tranny needs a rebuild and before i decide what i need done i want to know if i should just do a rebuild or do a final drive as well. The car will but used for 1/4 mile racing a lot so I don't know if a final drive is best for what i need. My car makes around 500whp currently and with my 6765 kit i plan on making 700 750whp on high boost revving to about 9000 rpm
my other question is asking what would be the best tire or slick option i could use with my stock breaks. I have so much wheel spin out the whole i can not cut better than a 1.7 60ft because of all the wheel spin. can i get a stock evo 8 or 9 wheel and put a slick on it using my stock breaks?

I've been there before on this exact situation...literally. At the time my setup was a stock 2.0 engine with PT 6765 with 732awhp at the ground, and I couldn't get the tires to hook up for shart. I ended up replacing the front evo x brake callipers with a set off a IX (front callipers on the X are to big to run 17's). The smaller calliper allowed me to run 17" wheels so I picked up a set of stock evo 8 wheels and mounted a set of mickey thompson drag radials which I now use for all track days.
David Buschur did a good right up on final drive subject, with the ultimate end state being something along the lines of if you can rev it out then you should opt to stay away from the final drive. I love my shep final drive setup but I'm also running a true stroker setup.
