9's, 9's, and more 9's LOL!

Well the CMI race that was scheduled 6/12/11 once again turned into a TNT day so decided to really practice my launch technique and found a good rythm.

Was really hoping to run much deeper into the 9's but damn is it tough to get everything perfect from launch to shifts to eek out just a couple tenths lol!

Anyway the car ran super strong even with me not being able to datalog the info as it was supposed to be re-tuned on the EBCS but we had no time so back on went the MBC.

I crossed my fingers that no-one had messed with it and went racing so needless to say there is probably more HP from some fine tuning but that will come at a later date.

The car ran w/o any issues pass after pass and even hot-lapping it

So here are the 3 best passes for the day:

#1 (just based on this it should have been a luck day to get a PB but oh well lol)

Do you really need all that safety stuff including the suit?

^^yup, everything he has is required by NHRA to run 9.99 and quicker or 135mph and faster. It gets nice a toasty at times during hot summers lol.
Seems the east coast tracks don't harp on it too much, but NW NHRA divisions crack down on rules. Our track (division 6) is really tight on rules. No warnings, they just boot ya haha.

I honestly don't know the last time it was on the dyno it was in 630 range but the tune gets tweaked almost everytime out to the track.

If your track is as strict as ours to be 100% NHRA legal to run sub 10.0 & 135+ mph then your answer is YES!

Trust me if i could ditch the suit in 85*+ weather i'd gladly do so

Oh you know I'm just giving ya a hard time man!

Speaking of NHRA safety, have they busted your chops for the new roll bar padding rule yet? They yelled at me last time I was out, Over here as of June 1st SFI 45.1 roll bar padding mandatory. I just got mine the other day, only needed 3 feet, just needs to be anywhere your head may come in contact with the bar. It's cheap stuff, it cost me like $25 shipped from summit racing.

Ya i know bud i try not to take that stuff seriously................ i'm not out trying to beat any records besides my own

Luckily they have not said anything yet but i'll add that to the list of things that need to get done besides finsihing the cage paint so i can put my car back to street trim with the interior

I also need to send my harness back to GForce to have it re-cert'd.

Was just gunna pick up another harness but DAMN they are on backorder for 1-2 months

Seriously oh well will have to just pick up another brand until mine come back from GForce.

I'm very tempted to go to something bigger 6765 w/ a new FFTEC manifold but i figure at that time i'd probably want to upgrade the head a little bit.

But before all that i really need to pull the bearings to take a look at them as the motor has been in there since Nov of 2007

The recent comp test showed 170-175 across and very little leakdown but before i get really crazy with it power wise i'd like the peace of mind

So that may all wait until winter as i don't care for down-time right now.

I have a couple new things coming to hopefully chop 2-3 tenths off w/o any major work and i will be content for this year.

My damn luck that this year most of our $money$ races have not come to fruition

How about you?
