bad 60ft? vid inside

first time at the track with this setup. Only had 3 launches to play around with tire pressure and 2step. boost is building up to 7-8psi. 6500rpm f15psi r16psi. d2 coilovers/hoosier qtps combo.
60ft 1.99

i think im riding out the clutch to much on that run.
I did try to quickly slip the clutch once the car moves but it hooked hard and bogged.

odd thing that this car hooks better on the street!

any ideas to help the 60ft at the track? more boost off launch?

haha, love the commentary. Im not an expert, but it does sound like your riding the clutch out too long. Track prep has a lot to do with it too. My car always hooks better on the street than the track that I go to.

I can smell the clutch from here. As soon as you feel it catch/move, let it go. What clutch is it?

Exedy triple. I kinda figured I didn't pull out fast enough. Maybe this weekend I can get back out there.

What's your setup? Seems like you don't have enough RPM's/Boost to get off of the line smoothly.

haha...definitely sounds like a personal problem...

Back on topic, have you tried preloading the clutch/drivetrain with the e-brake method? Maybe work on your launch map too and up the boost while on your 2 step to 10-12 psi??

On the QTPs when i ran them i was running them 14psi in Front 12psi in the Rear and Cut multiple 1.4s. Lowest was a 1.42 60ft. I would put them at that tire pressure for now. U said you have a Exedy Tripple, i believe you dont need to slip it that much when you launch. What I do is hold the clutch pedal to almost engangement, give it a slight slip and dump it from there. From the video it looks like all your doing it holding on to it too much and slipping it too much. A little more seat time on the QTPs you will be fine. Hope this helps ya out man and thats the best advice i can give ya. Good Luck next out man!

Thats what she said!

Again, i cant say a whole lot as I am inexperienced myself, but yea, I do the same thing evo sick said. I am on an Exedy twin, I hold it at stagin with my foot on the clutch to where if I lift my foot a 1/4 inch, it will move the car. When the lights change, I ease out just about an inch and i let it go! So much fun btw! lol

^Thats whats she said!

I would try that and see what happens. I learned to do this tecnique a long time ago and have cut amazing 60fts with them. Sometimes i get lazy and dump it too much and the car will have a slight bog. A little more seat time and you will get it TSI i didnt know you were from IL, you need to come up soon and go to some meets and crusies!

lol, i figured that would get a few ppl kickin.

I have yet to try the preload ebrake method.

thnx evosick2332 again, i'll definetly steadily dump the clutch once the car slightly moves.

Don't be scared to dump the clutch. Your tires (side wall) is soft enough to absorb the shock/bounce. (it won't wheel hop) *cross fingers* lol
