First time at the track.

1.858 60ft
12.854@106.71mph 1/4 mile
Launching at 5750rpms and shifting around 7300rpms

My mods are TBE *catless*, Dropin filter, hallman boost controller 24psi, TTP email flash. I was able to improve my launch to a 1.77 60ft but missed 4th Does this slip indicate my car is where it's supposed to be for my mods? Thanks in advance.

No, not anywhere close. Your slip indicates near-stock results for a IX or an VIII with just a base tune and no mods.

Any possible input aside from "no"?

Huh? I gave more input than "no." I said you aren't "anywhere close" and that your results are similar to a stock IX or stock tuned VIII. What else do you want to know?

What time range and trap speed is a IX with my mods supposed to be around with a 1.8 60ft? Im curious how far off I am. I logged my runs with Evoscan and it took me between .08 and .1 seconds between shifts.

That is a great first try at the strip. I would be interested in seeing what the 1.7x run would have looked like.

Are you using the stutterbox launch limiter? I don't believe we typically set any limiters over 5500 unless you have made changes yourself afterwards.

12's on your first time out is great. It takes many trips to the strip and practice to learn to shift fast enough to cut down the E.T.

EDIT: Comments removed. Please keep this thread on the topic of the OP.

Ryu, Can you give a breakdown of the timeslip? Weather ...humidity...temp...ect...

You should be around 113mph with those mods.
You said you logged the runs?
What does the timing ramp/af looked like? Any knocks?

i ran similar times w/ similar mods on my IX... 12.76 @ 108mph w/ a 1.8 60'
i think w/ a 1.7 60' and better shifting/shift points i can bring it down to a 12.4-5.. im sure u can too. i understand ur concerns too... regardless of driving skill i was expecting a 110+ trap ...

Don't listen to Warrtalon, he is frustrated that he has been trying to reach 11's since 2004 with six sponsorships, camshafts, 4 custom Dynoflash maps, alky injection, high boost, Forge Actuator, at least 3 clutches and on and on. Yet he claims to be the master of drag racing.

When he finally runs 11's in the next few years with the thousands of dollars in mods and Dynoflash sponsored tunes, we will throw a party for him, complete with strippers and then retire his car here: http://1134.org/adventures/dragrace/
Yes, I bumped the 2step up to 5750rpms myself after receiving the tune. As for the 1.77 60ft run, im quite curious what the results would have been as well. I just reviewed my log from that run and it seems it took me nearly a full second to shift into 4th with missing it and I still managed a 12.9 1/4 time.

Ryu, no matter what Scott says about me or how he tries to spin it, your car is very weak. The driving is fine and is not really a problem, although you can of course improve the 60'. However, that has no effect on the trap speed, which is terribly weak right now. All I'm doing is helping. You asked the question if the timeslip matches your mods, and I answered that it did not. I also said nothing bad about the tune or the tuner, so he is once again out of line.
I don't understand why my car would be running weak though. I thought the trap speed was a bit low. I was expecting to trap around 110mph.

1. There are not enough completed test runs to make a determination of performance.

2. Your first time out and subpar driving skill does not make for a good sample of performance.

It's hard to put screen names with actual names so forgive as I try to figure out which car this is.

If you like however next time you are at the strip, you may want to try a pinch driver with more experience for one run. Or ride in the car with one of us and demonstrate your driving so we may critique it and give you pointers.

This is about where you should be: With the same mods I went 11.9 at 115, n my IX. I hope this clears up Warr's "NO".
