6k launch riping through exedy stage 2?

My two step is set at 6k, I have 1200 miles on my new exedy stage 2, and the clucth was slipping hard on launch. Is 600 stop and go miles not enough or did I get a weaker pressure plate? Its susposed to be a 3010 clamping force, but my act stage 1 bit alot harder? Let me know what you guys think, last nights 60 foots were dissapointing. Also how should I go about changing my two step back to 5k which seemed to hold the power a bit better. 4k boggd horrible. Thanks

If by Exedy Stage 2, you mean the 4-puck cerametallic, then that thing should grab like a ****. I rocked out with mine and launched off the 6k 2-step constantly. I first dragged it at 150 miles. 5k is too low, and 4k WAYYYYY too low. 6k is just right, but you can't slip it too long.

You were exactly the man I wanted to talk to. Yea I have the 4 puck cerametallic. The only thing I can think of is that the exedy stage 2 feels so much different than the act as far as engagement goes that maybe im not used to the exedy yet? Maybe I need to slip the new one a bit more before trying to make it bite all the way? IDK, 6k was slipping pretty hard I dont have THAT much power either?

Well, no, if you try to slip it longer, then that makes it more prone to full slippage. If you're engaging quickly after the initial slip, then it should grab hard as hell.

When you mention engagement being different than the ACT, do you mean the engagement point, or how it feels? If your engagement point is off, then you just need to adjust the clutch pedal rod. If you have the pedal adjusted to where it engages too high, then it will be more likely to slip due to not having full contact.

You are right, the new clucth engages higher. I will have to adjust it lower to see if that helps.

Yeah, try to set it where the engagement is in the middle of the pedal travel.

Yep that was the trick. Car bites hard at 6k! Thanks warrtalon for the reminder. Car should have 11.80s in it, launch feels better than ever.

Great! I'm glad it was something simple and not a clutch problem.
