10's Finally!! 6 years in the making....

Update (11/6): Went to the track yesterday to try and best my ET & MPH with the new clutch and fresh trans (thanks Devin). I want to give a shout out to Jason (AngryEvo) for making the bumper shutters and mirror block offs and showing up at the track to help install them (thanks man!!). Anywho, I set my personal best ET/MPH yesterday with less than favorable conditions (25mph headwind) and I was blowing the tires off at launch hurting my 60'. I still think the car has bottom 10's once I put a perfect pass together. It was also awesome to see Devin's monster make a few passes. I should have some vids and pics in a few days of the passes.

Breakout (Best ET):
60': 1.82
330: 4.674
1/8: 6.997
MPH: 105.52
1000': 8.937
1/4: 10.545 (personal best)
MPH: 139.98

Breakout (Best MPH):
60': 1.856
330: 4.883
1/8: 7..207
MPH: 106.84
1000': 9.141
1/4: 10.748
MPH: 140.49 (personal best)

I know it's nothing compared to some of the times you guys run, but I'm happy to finally get this monkey off my back . Car has been thru several setups over the years and I think I'm going to stick with this turbo for a while and work on my driving/shifting to dig deeper into the 10's. I'm on an ACT 6-Puck (sprung) that is killing me with high RPM shifting but I'm looking to fix that w/ a QM 8-leg and refreshed trans. This was the first time out w/ motorcycle slicks (14psi) and they definitely helped on my short times. Car weighs 2835lbs with 1/4 tank & seats removed according to the track scales. MPH was down a little, but I'm guessing it's due to the temp at the track (high 80s/low 90's).

Breakout:
60': 1.660 (personal best)
330: 4.554
1/8: 7.009
MPH: 98.48
1000': 9.097
1/4: 10.764 (personal best)
MPH: 136.54

Fast forward to 2:45 to catch my video, luckily someone was recording the event

I'm not sure how much I can knock off this time, but I know with a better 60', clean 1-2 shift and 2-3 I'll be able to shave a couple tenths and hopefully pick up some MPH as the car falls out of the powerband currently fighting to get into gear at 8500+ rpms

Congrats! After all the time put into the car I'm sure it made it that much better to hit your goal! 10's are still badass! Guys are going crazy fast nowadays though!

Any info on your APM driveshaft?

congrats on the times. There is certainly more in it. Your 1/8 mile MPH is pretty low for your horsepower... makes me think you're having lots of shifting issues as you stated.

Gaining 38mph after the 1/8th? That is some serious top end on the back half of the track. If you had a good launch with a good tranny/clutch set up (*hint: see my signature), you'd be low 10's, possibly high 9's with a 1.4x 60ft and lighting fast shifting.

My car was the first prototype shaft they had made, 2-piece design w/ chromoly front. Not sure if they changed up the design since then, but you can find some info here: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/mi...al-update.html

I agree the 1/8th mile mph/et is low; I looked at the logs yesterday and was seeing that it was taking .4 sec for the 1-2 shift, .2sec for the 2-3 shift and .4sec for the 3-4 shift. Definitely an area for improvement, hoping a clutch and fresh trans can help there.

Thanks man, the car definitely has the power and weight to cut a decent time. When building my car I skimped on the drivetrain and rolled the dice on the clutch; don't get me wrong the clutch holds the power fine in a 3rd gear roll on, but isn't up to the task of nailing high rpm shifts like butter. I'm sure it would be fine for anyone around 500whp. You're killing it on the stock turbo, great job

My buddy got it on his phone, but he's not the most tech savvy and might not ever figure out how to get it over to me

I'm confident these times will continue to drop, between beefing up the drivetrain and cutting some additional weight. I think I can get the car down to 2800lbs even while still being streetable.
