I'm curious if there is any plans to specify what constitutes a "stock appearing turbo" for classes like ESA.
Lots of big changes in the market for available turbos these days, but they've also come with significant changes in design. For anyone wanting to stay in a stock appearing class, it'd be nice to know if the external wastegate setups are going to be acceptable. Because to stay competitive with Zeros and zephyrs in the near future, it might be necessary to upgrade.
Originally, the ATP 3582 scared me a bit but didn't appear to be leaps and bounds over a black. My short question really is, will all the new FP turbos be allowed with the new designs?
thanks

This is from that actual thread about the housings..
and this is from David's rules
I would assume this is correct information as the turbo is not stock appearing anymore, and the dump would have to be on the o2, I tried looking for where he might have actually said it himself but couldn't find it, so I guess wait for David to clear it up
If anyone missed it, unfortunately Buschur said these hotsides will NOT be allowed in the stock appearing turbo class at the Shootout.
Stock appearing turbo. Sheet metal 02 housings with recirculating or open dumps OK
