If you want to do nothing buy mangle your transmission and tires then dump it from redline...if you want to launch then I suggest a little practice. Good ole trial and error...start low, go gradually higher. When you get an approximate range then fine tune it.

My stock tires couldn't keep grip past 3k. If you're running the stock Yokohamas or Goodyears I'd suggest launching at lower rpms if you actually want traction. Those things spun easier than a CD in a discman.

I say redline and dump the clutch. Of course I have an AWD car.
For a front wheel drive you would want go low. In my old eclipse I would get my best times launching between 2k and 3k (at most).

good range is 3000-4500, even though thats more along the lines of a perfect dump for a charged car, but im sure it would be the same for an N/A, find the power band.

I stand by my advice...just start a little higher than 3k. It's as much a matter of practice as it is rpms.

I agree with Hobie... 3500 has worked best for me, when I was trying to see what this car could do in the 1/4. Needless to say, I'm thinking more about autocross now.

Seriously, though, if you dump at redline, you'll smell something distinctly like a smoking clutch.

3500-3800 is what i have been doing around town...spent a couple hours one night messing with launches...and its a little of an ease the for the last part dumping it...basically once i feel any kind of traction i dump it and hope it doesnt swerve right...anybody else have that prob...much luck...

i go about 2500 - 3000. no slippage on the stock goodyears but I will be getting some z rated 15's. keeping the oz's since they're cheaper and lighter . what ya'll think?

Red face Depends on the conditions

Try this dump scale...

3K - Wet w/17s or 18s (no stock rubber)

3.5K - Cold Weather/ NoS

4K - Warm and dry - New tranny

Redline - 2nd or 3rd race - treadless Kumhos/clutch gone anyway
