Went Back To The Dragstrip

Well I went back to Carlsbad today to see what my Evo would do with my new 3" Cat-Back Exhaust, K & N Panel Filter, and Boost Controller set at 18PSI. I ran a best of 13.49 and had a best trap speed of 103.37. I was happy with these results on 91 octane. My boost would taper from 18 PSI to 17 PSI. I'm going to keep working on my times using our crappy California gas until I dip well into the 12's, then I'll start playng with some 100 octane.

Nice runs. Hope to see you at carlsbad or fontana some time. I was just there 2 weeks ago to run my audi for the first time with the new setup.

Evotio sounds good for ghettosbad and 91 octane on low boost. Hope you are having fun with the car and giving your v-8 buddies a run for their money.

Thanks, I'm getting there slowly but surely. It'll be more of a challenge doing it on 91 octane. Hey, did you guys hear that Carlsbad may be shutting down as soon as October. That was the talk at the dragstrip yesterday. I know some housing developement people would love to get a hold of all that land!

Damn are you for reals, that sucks, but atleast Mopar Drag City will be opening around the same time, anybody have plans to go there for it's opening. I hear the track is going to be awesome not only for the racers but the fans too, only thing that sucks is it's elevation, other than that it should be one of the best drag strips in California and the country. Here is a link(check out the computer generated pictures of the proposed final project, looks great)-

The land to the north has been sold and being developed, buit they cant build housing on any of that land since it is comercial. The talk of it being closed down has been going on for 3 years now.

Some of the guys at the track told me to call the Carlsbad Raceway phone line and they mentioned it on there. I'll have to call it and hear it myself.

Well it will be sad to see Carlsbad go if this is all true. As much as we all complain on how bad that track is, at least you could get in a whole bunch of runs most of the time and the track is pretty close to sea leval. I will check out the new track at Banning when it opens up. The elevation will be higher than Fontana from what I understand, but that track should be state of the art.

Nice thing is that carlsbad is open 50 saturdays a year and only closed for 2 weeks at xmas. Cant say that about any other track in the states.

Thanks. No flash yet. I may consider it very soon. I am also going to play with a water/alcohol injection set-up in order to turn up the boost a couple more PSI with our 91 pump gas.

Sideways, when is it and maybe maybe not. Depends on weather and if i get off my assss and do some required maitenance on the car. It has been parked under a cover and I do not miss it yet. Well I do miss it but I am handling the withdrawls pretty good for now. Next time out I want to prep right and see what she will do.
