Won my first drag event in Canada!

After 10 hours of driving from West Michigan, getting lost in London Canada, and making it to the track just in time to sign up for the race, we finally made it. This was a CSCS event (Canada Sport Compact Series). The only event I entered was a "King of the Streets" race which was a heads up race where you pulled a number out of a hat and raced till you lost. It was the first time that they had done this so it was pretty unorganized but was really fun. They took down the christmas tree and replaced it with one of the import car model chic’s who would drop her hands and away you go. Then at the end of the track were two guys sitting by the line to see who crosses first. This was created in order to get people off of the streets and bring it to the track, a great idea if you ask me. There where no times recorded because they wanted a street atmosphere so they shut off most of the lights and times clock boards. It felt like street racing but better because you’re not going to get in trouble.

There where two classes, all motor and power adder. Anyone could enter but you had to be in full street trim... no problem. I still have the stock Advans on and they have 16k miles on them, they are pretty much bald. Anyway I had to race four times against cars that where all running low 12's high 11's. I'm not going to lie, I was nervous. There where high hp supras, rx-7's, integras, and civis in the power adder class all with turbos, supercharger, or nitrous... or both More than 3/4's of the guys where C-16, and me I was running **** 91 oct from some local gas station. I beat all four cars I had to race: 2 turbo integras, and 2 Supras. I was really excited that I won, plus it paid out $1000 in cash and prizes I was the only Evo there and boy did they ever hate the fact that I was from the US and won. You know what I said on stage... GO USA

I'll post the videos once I figure out how. If anyone can help please let me know. I don't have a clue how but it was taped from a digital video camera.

Sweet man. Nice to hear the US representing. You shoul dbe able to download the video to your computer and convert it or save it as an MPEG or MOV file. Then you should be able to upload it here or on another server and link to it.

I haven't changed my profile in a long time, I'm not stock anymore. I have a custom GT35R set-up running an AEM, 272's, SMIM, etc. Everything has been changed except the bottom end.

If I was an event planner I would do it with out a doubt. It was a fun race and everyone had a great time. Although it was very unorganized it did have a bunch of positive impact. I would be interested in renting a track in the US and doing something like this. I'm not sure if we have different regulations that would prevent us or not. Toronto Motorsports Park is NHRA so I woul think yes for anywhere else.

Once again video as soon as I get home and figure this thing out.

First of all.. badass job beating up on those guys!

We have something similar to that close to Chicago.. at GLD (www.greatlakesdragaway.com).. It's called "Real Street Drags" and goes on througout the racing season.. It's always a Thursday and it's once a month.. The next one is the 19th of August.

It would be fun to see you come out here and race against some other fast EVO's etc.. AMS likes to go to these events sometimes..

EVOlunchbox- I was just wondering if you had any dyno numbers for your set up and/or 1/4 Mile Times?
