Running some new times, not in an EVO
Running some new times, not in an EVO
Well it isn't an EVO but it is worth talking about.
Our RWD Conquest powered by a 4g63, fun car. Kevin Lawson drives it.
Every last Wednesday of the month they have an Outlaw Street night at NRP. We always go and compete against all the V-8's. Very fast serious cars. We have never NOT qualified for the 8 car field. Many other v-8's have been knocked out of the qualifying field by us, very fun to let them make excuses.
Anyway, on this same note we have never made it past the first round either. Usually end up in the middle of the field making us run #1 or #2 qualifier first round. Most of the time they run 7's.
Tonight we made it past the first round! haha
Freshened the engine and head in the car, been in since last July 4th and we pulled it out of my wrecked tube car when we put it in this car.
Car uses a .020 overbored engine, 2.0 liter, not a stroker. Our Stage 3 shortblock and head. HKS 272 cams. One of the same style turbos we sell in our turbo kits for the EVO, just a larger version, we call it the BR675. (BTW, just went 9.48 at 151 mph in an AWD street class DSM)
First pass of the night was our best ever, 8.78 at 155 mph. I was happy.
2nd pass was an abortion. No boost. Found the wastegate gasket was blown and one bolt was missing. Quick fix, tomorrow it gets welded solid
3rd pass was the first round, won with an 8.88 at 155 mph.
4th run I decided we needed to step up the launch RPM from 4500 to 5250, car runs a new best everything.
1.30 sixty foot
127 mph in the 1/8th
8.61 at 158 mph.
Nice.

Yes, we sell the 675, drag only, needs NOS to really spool up well. Guys have run 10's with it without nitrous but it is lazy. Turbo is $1200.
Tube chassis car is still here, it is for sale though.

Our EVO is back on the road, does not have a BR675 on it, just joking. Has a modified version of the BR580 on it. Just got back from some road testing, feels pretty good at 20 psi. Pulled the stock shortblock out of it and put in the Stage 3, getting ready for the shootout. The car now has everything we offer on it. No more dyno tuning, just going to dial it in on the road.
New fuel system this week and then the boost goes up to 30 psi.

Dave any plans to enter the conquest in NOPI Street tire class next year? You may have the only 4g63 powered car that is capable of winning that class next year. Would be some awesome exposure for you also.

We decided to build a car that would be capable of competing with the quickest Street Class cars out there, the Supras.
We aren't legal for their class. They say the lexan rear window in the car keeps us out of it.
