ok this is the video.

look at the foot work please.
Could you please give the time in the video when they double clutch? I must have missed it. All I saw was heel-toe downshifting.

yeh, you're right, that wasn't the right video. it's not the yellow car, it's the grey car that they drive that they show that.

Looks like the problem is you saying "there's no way you need to double clutch" make it sound like you can't double clutch.

that's how I'm comprehending this. I'll talk to few other people again in few weeks, (pro drivers) then I'll get back to you.

For 3 years, whenever I get into this discussion, in person, with the drivers they say they do double clutch but they're also saying they single clutch as well.

But what i'm saying is rev match is a must. This is the point I'm trying to make and not on whether or not to double clutch rev match or single clutch rev match.

Double clutching makes the precedure just a lot more structured. however, I do single clutch rev match time to time, when I'm late on setting up that or if it's urgent thing.

Also, when I said high speed lane change, I need to define that little better.

you're probably thinking why would you need to rev match downshift when you do high speed lane change? don't you just speed up?

there are certain times, and it happens fequently where I would setup my double clutch down shift to 3rd from 5th to get ahead of the car and pull up in front of a car.

that's when I meant by the lane change. When I downshift 2 gears down on highway speed, I always double clutch and rev match because I don't like my car jerking at that speed.

I double clutch on turns as well, that and heel and toe on turns.

For ME, it sets me up a lot easier for me to double clutch because there is an order that's fairely clear, rather than not rev matching or single clutch rev matching. I rev match better when I double clutch as well when I'm speeding up, then downshifting without slowing down.

hope this clearifies some of your "wtf?"

ok?

Congradulations Plokiovs, That has got to be the most coherent post I've read from you. Its also the first time I can you remember saying that something is your opinion and not hard fact.

Not really. You are down shifting to accelerate. All you need to do is rev match no double clutching and I find it very rare that I need to shift from fifth to third to pass on the interstate at highway speeds.

Who are these "Pro drivers" you are talking to? I would really love to know their names or, are you just pulling sh*t out of your ***?

Again no one has said you can't double clutch, you just don't need to. Everyone knows you should rev match. IT"S THE DOUBLE CLUTCHING WE ARE DISAGREEING WITH.

I'm rolling on the floor. Check out my new sig......

Plokivos, I don't know if you are aware of the fact that there are several professional drivers right here on this board. There are also a lot very skilled drivers who are at the top of the heap in their hobbies. BS stinks and there are a lot of sensitive noses around.

didn't i just say, I was talking about the rev matching, and not the double clutching?

i don't single clutch rev match, because I don't want to drag my clutch when I rev and shift.

It's also just easier for me to do it in double.

see that was the problem. You guys thought I was saying about the double clutch, all at mean while I was talking about the rev matching. When I say double clutch, I'm really saying rev matching. force of habit.

anyway, the pro drivers that I've talked to about driving, that they do perform double clutch rev matching was back in 98, when I was in the preludeonline.com long before they went into a paid site.

I don't know if it's still there, but we had some good discussion on rev matching and how tos.

by the way,

there should be a quotation mark right after blah blah blah, scotty.

Qutoted it just like you typed.... I would not want to be accused of anything.

Every time I read one of your posts it make me think about David Buschur's famous quote about arguring on the internet.

Well, it's been well more than a few weeks. What did your "pro drivers" tell you about double clutching?
