Your speed through the traps at the end of the 1/4-mile. For example:

I ran a 12.15 at 110.70. Me Estimated Time (ET) was 12.15 seconds, and my trap speed was 110.70mph.

I found this much out. I'll reach 60 mph 3/10ths faster if i shift first gear @ 6500 rather then 7000 or higher. 2 reasons, the turbo whines out faster in 1st gear, 2nd, it's more difficult to shift faster at 7000 rpms or higher. I noticed if i shift @ 7000 rpm's or higher, sometimes i would get locked out! 6500 is smooth and lightning quick, which will make a difference also. Did you ever time your shifting ? You would be amazed how much time you're losing. I timed (what i thought was fast) a shift from 1st to 2nd and it was .78 seconds (that's the complete shift not shift getting it from notch to notch). At 6500 rpm, it's .29 seconds! Much faster! Nevertheless, it's a difference of a 4.10 ~ 4.30 seconds to a 3.8 ~ 3.97 seconds. Big difference!
That much I can say. So I agree with the individual who mentioned a shift point of 6500 rpm for first gear on stock or light modded evos ! Worked for me!
1st to 2nd : 6500 rpm
2nd to 3rd : 7500 rpm (to get that good 60 mph time)
3rd to 4th : 7000 ~ 7100 rpm (no point of whining it out, you're losing time)
4th to finish line (i tested both, you'll lose time shifting to fifth, so f you're flashed to at least 7800 rpm, then ride 4th out! This yielded a better time for me rather then shifting into 5th @ 7000 ~ 7100 rpm).
