oh ****!! I do not recognize that my English is sooooo...o poor!!

I mean when I drive, I always shift the gear at 4000 round,I feel it is faster than change the gear at 3000 or 5000 or 6000. do you guys have other way more faster???

he's asking what engine rpm to shift from into the next highest gear in order to achieve the best acceleration...

theoretically, you will achieve best acceleration in any car if you upshift such that the engine rpm when you engage the next gear is right at the torque peak of the engine...in the case of a stock Evo 8, that means you would upshift so that the engine rpm falls back to AROUND 3,500 rpm in the next gear

but that's just a general rule of thumb....you'll need to get the "truth" from some of these lead-footed guys that race at the strip

redline 1st gear because 2nd gear starts so low. shift to 3rd at 6000, then to 4th at 5500.

1st gear
shift at 6200 - starts 2nd at 3368
2nd gear
shift at 6000 - starts 3rd at 4250
3rd gear
shift at 5750 - starts 4th at 4295
4th gear --- you don't need to beyond 4th gear do you?

this is from looking at gear ratios and the aem dyno sheet. the aem dyno sheet says it's peak hp is 5750, so i take that into consideration. my tachometer reads lower than rpm seen by the ecu so i use my safc to read true rpm. don't know how well yours is calibrated. oh yeah, getting close to 6200 rpm is tricky cuz thats about 50 rpm short of fuel cut (i think). you can always be safe and shift at 6000 or so.

you probably feel that 4000 is the best because that is the beginning of the power band and you feel the sudden surge of power. above 4000 is constant power. just because you don't feel the jolt doesn't mean you're not making good power. just means the power is coming along more linear.
