wheel spin?

i've never experienced this except when i played in snow...but this morning after it just got done raining and with the roads wet, i was entering an open road making a right turn and when i stepped hard on the gas the car wasn't getting any traction and i was revving up to redline like i was on neutral...i was on 2nd gear then. so i upshifted accelerated then same thing happened again...the road was a smooth wet asphalt i believe.

i tried it again from a stop...the car started to fish tail from hard acceleration, which i'm pretty sure is normal considering the road was wet.

i was just curious if this is normal coz i figured i wouldn't get that less of a traction or wheel spin for having an awd car...or is it because of the open differential? i guess the only thing i'm worried about is if maybe there's something wrong and my rear wheels aren't getting any power so i might only have my front wheels driving the car?

Key words are: "just after it got done raining" the rain brings oil to the surface of the road making it slick and if it was asphalt all the more slippery. You issue is just a fact of the road and rain..Sure , if you want to blame the car--you could or all the HP your making or open differential.. it won't change anything..My guess would be any car under those same conditions on that road would have the same kind of problem..Just take note and be more carefull. "Accelerating hard" in the rain is a great way to get to know your insurance agent and other folks whom you don't already know..

Get someone to watch and/or video the car while you do that so you can see if both the front and rears are both putting down traction. Just an idea.

That or find someone with a quad roller to test it on. http://www.dynodynamics.info/AWD_Dyno_Quad_Retarder.php

if your worried about your rear wheels not spinning why not just put it in the air and idle in first thats a pretty simple solution for that. but i would prob say your tires are not the best. what kind are they?

i love right after it rains, cut out open and launch out of a red light. all 4 tires spin like hell and i bounce off the rev limiter and scare the s**t out of people around me. one of the funnest things to do so i think your fine.
