Post Do u Drag Gears?

I was just wondering if it was bad to leave your car in gear. By in gear i mean, say u take off in first and there's a stop sign ahead of u. Do u clutch in it and let the car coast to the stop sign or u do leave it in first and let the car drag the gear till the rpms drop? I always like to shift my car out of low gears because i keep thinking that it would ruin or cause more wear in my engine, tranny, and clutch. Now that i have a turbo car i'm more concerned about the surge for the turbos.

Has anyone ever noticed that when u leave your car in a low gear and let off the gas (when the car is motion of course) the turbos sound like they are spooling backwards or something?

It has always been just a theory for me, never really asked anybody. But id must rather clutch it and put it in neutral than to drag my gears. Maybe on 2nd gear and up but i'm kind of sketchy about first gear.

let it coast in neutral without keeping it in first. i hear its bad for the transmission somehow to leave it in a gear and coast with the clutch down. i always flip it to neutral now instead of clutching it while in gear.

i usually coast in 4th though when im doing 55-60 and i dont want more speed and i want it to drag without pushing the brakes. its your car so do whatever you want, but we all know how mitsu*****y is with clutch claims.

BTW, mines already getting all weird on me...
