how to get the best times?

I've recently started drag racing in an area near my home
and i'm kinda making a fool of myself. even though i have
a fast car i'm always beaten... that SUCKS

so i came here to ask for your help- could anyone tell me
how to get faster times.. do u lunch? drag gears?
what's your stretegy while drag racing?

In a safe enviroment... Also if you are not ready to drag race, wait some more time... You'll be ready soon...

I've got a mazda RX-8
and by "drag gears" i mean go beyond the red RPM limit

And how do you go about doing that? The ECU cuts off your fuel supply to prevent you from going above the RPM limit.

slicks+heating them up+ 7000rpm drop= u will not suck then!!!!

u can do that if u wanna risk damaging your clutch and maybe even your transmission..how are u launching your car right now?

I'm revving to about 6K and then dump the clutch

i get some wheelspin but
after dumping the clutch i ease on the throttle
for a second that usually helps
