I used to just leave it in neutral, but last week I parked at my friends house and didn't think the incline was steep, the car started to roll away lol so now in gear

Always in gear with the ebrake pulled. The ebrake like could fail so neutral isnt a safe bet.

I didnt have a turbo timer though, I just waited with the car for a minute.

always in gear--here is why

Had a neighbor up the street from me-- I was slightly down hill and across the street---guess what , he buys a new truck and like most of you didnt put it in gear when he came home late one night.. About 5am I hear a loud thud-- guess what? His car rolled down hill and was stuck in the side of my car. So-- take heed, the car will roll if you dont have the brakes " all the way on", they will roll after you leave--Put the Damn things in gear and save everyone a head ache--. Leave them in gear, put the brakes on--just like you would any car--you put an automatic in park and put the brake on. Don't be that guy coming to the door in his underwear and trying to explain why his car is stuck in the side of yours and how he did everything he should have-- nough said.

1st and e-brake

i park mine in 1st and pull the e-brake..

one time about a year ago when i first got the car i parked in my spot(carport), and i left it in 3rd instead and didnt pull the e-brake, got out like normal...well its a slight incline and i took about 5 steps and i heard this thud and i was like wtf!?...so i look back and my car rolled back but stopped like 1-2 feet down...and as im staring at the car, it rolls back a lil more about another 1-2 feet...and i was like.....WTF...so i got in drove it back in the spot and used 1st and e-brake...

so i realized instead of 1st like i normally did i accidentally used 3rd..lol
after that ive always left it in 1st AND e-brake..never had issues after that...
plus i was always taught to leave the car at least in gear...preferrably w/ e-brake...tho i never used the e-brake till that time above..

neutral I have a turbo timer. But if your worried about it rolling wait for the car to shut off from the turbo timer then put it in gear.

same here... i normally park neutral w/ e brake because i got used to doing that with the turbo timer... if its on a incline ill sit in the car and wait for the timer to run down and then put it in 1st w/ e brake.

Depends on the situation. Neutral in case the car gets hit/bumped so it won't take out the trans. Neutral while being hauled in the trailer.

In 1st or reverse if there is a hill just in case the parking brake fails.

Always in neutral. I think my giant rear brakes will hold it.
